Woman loses ‘mom pouch’ in 6 months revealing her transformation tips in TikTok video

‘Mom pouch” often refers to the lower abdominal area that some women may develop after pregnancy. This area may have a bit of extra skin or fat, and it’s a natural part of the body’s adaptation to pregnancy and childbirth.

A ‘mom pouch’ shouldn’t be a source of shame; it’s a testament to the incredible journey of motherhood. Ultimately, the decision to address it or not rests with each mom’s individual choice.

But there’s a lot of false information out there about it, making moms feel stuck and thinking they need special therapy to fix it.

Meanwhile, a woman  was able to get rid of her mom pouch in six months and reveal her exercise routine online.

Ruby Venegas, 24, shared her incredible six-month weight loss journey on TikTok, gaining over 14 million views.

She had diastasis recti after giving birth, causing her belly to stick out.

Despite gym workouts not helping much, she found success with Pilates, a low-impact exercise method.

Ruby also lifted weights and walked 10,000 steps every day, cutting her weight from 207 to 168 pounds.

Along with Pilates, focusing on her core, she lost another 38 pounds, reaching her goal weight of 130 pounds.

“I look better than I did before pregnancy,” said Ruby.

Ruby shared a video on TikTok of her on February 21, doing Pilates at home while her daughter napped.

The video spanned six months, showing her body getting smaller.

She said that after having her baby, she felt sad about her mom pouch.

She found Pilates in July 2023, which changed everything.

“It’s changed my life,” she said. “I haven’t stepped foot in a gym since.”

Pilates helped her get in shape, improved her health, and made her look more fit and toned.

Ruby finds it convenient to exercise at home, especially as a mom.

She struggles to find time and energy to go to the gym with a child and doesn’t always have a babysitter available.

So, she relies on discipline to stick to her routine. She told Newsweek that Pilates helped her get in shape, feeling healthier and more toned than ever. Exercising at home while the baby sleeps is easier for her. She doesn’t wait for motivation; she pushes herself, even when she doesn’t feel like it.

Tamara Galinsky from JETSET Pilates in Miami explained how Pilates benefits moms after childbirth.

She emphasized that Pilates focuses on strengthening core muscles, maintaining good form, and keeping muscles engaged throughout the workout.

It targets core and side muscles, aiding in weight loss and toning post-pregnancy.

Pilates also helps with pelvic floor strength, diastasis recti, and improves balance and posture.

“Through precise movements and controlled breathing techniques, Pilates assists new mothers in reestablishing muscle balance and functional movement patterns post-delivery,” Galinsky said.

After having a baby, women often give themselves understanding due to the many changes it brings.

However, when it comes to getting fit again after childbirth, they tend to be too hard on themselves, which can hinder reaching their goals.

To stay positive, remember these three things: the connection between mind and body, pregnancy brings significant changes that need time to adjust, and starting with a solid plan for lasting change.

When working on getting fit and getting rid of your mom pouch after having a baby, remember your mind and body are connected.

Being too hard on yourself mentally can slow down your physical progress.

Negative comments, like saying you’re out of shape or won’t recover your pre-baby fitness level, aren’t helpful or true.

Sadly, many women struggling to get back in shape after childbirth say such things to themselves.

Letting negative thoughts take over can drain your motivation and hinder progress.

Remember, your mind and body are linked, so don’t let negativity hold you back.

Your body took about nine months to adjust during pregnancy, so it’s natural to wonder how long it will take to get back in shape after giving birth.

While it’s hard to manage expectations when you’re eager to feel ‘normal’ again, expecting quick results may lead to disappointment.

Instead of being too hard on yourself about reaching your goals quickly, set achievable expectations that require effort but won’t make success impossible.

Moreover, you must have a good plan to achieve lasting changes in your body.

Without it, slow progress will lead to frustration. Simply hoping to get fit won’t suffice; you need a detailed strategy that guides you towards your goal.

A well-considered plan also prevents hitting a plateau, where you may become overly critical of yourself.
