8 types of pain that might be connected to your emotional states

Have you ever been to a specialist because you felt a pain somewhere and the results came back negative?

It was found that some of the types of pain we feel are due to our emotions. Yes, there is emotional pain, which is an ache that you cannot seem to locate or place and there are emotions that can also cause pain that can be felt physically.

This is because the body and spirit are intertwined and the pain is merely a signal that we need to pain attention to how we are feeling.

A psychologist, Dr. Susanne Babbel, who is an expert on trauma and depression said: โ€œStudies have shown that chronic pain might not only be caused by physical injury but also by stress and emotional issues.โ€

Below are the eight types of pain that are related to how we are feeling or our emotions.

According to Doctor Christina Peterson, headache is commonly caused by extreme stress. When we are stressed or anxious, we usually think too much which results in head pain.

To relieve this pain, it is best to identify your stressors and avoid them. Moreover, engaging yourself in hobbies, meditation, reading, and exercising are some of the best ways to alleviate stress.

2. Neck pain

Reiki practitioner and expert in kinesiology Lori Dโ€™Ascenzo states that people who constantly experience neck pain are people who are unable to let things go or forgive others.

The best way to relieve this pain is to forgive people who hurt you. Holding on to grudges will only cause you pain.

3. Shoulder pain

Professional kinesiologist Ros Kitson believes that shoulder pain is often associated with emotional blockage. People who bottled their emotions inside them usually experience this kind of pain.

Do not ignore your emotions or problems, but dig deep inside you. As a remedy, know how to express your emotions. Letting it out will make you feel better. There are many ways to express your feelings such as painting and writing.

4. Upper back pain

Self-help author and life coach Ronda Degaust says that upper back pain is often due to a lack of emotional support that often stems from loneliness, being unloved, or feeling unappreciated.

The best way to resolve this is to go out and hang out more with your friends and family to avoid feeling alone and unloved.

5. Lower back pain

Lower back pain is often caused by money problems, according to natural healer Dr. Mark W. Tong. Try to regain control over your finances by seeking advice from a financial expert.

6. Elbow pain

Dr. Alan Fogel states that pain in the elbow is due to the stubborn approach to life. They say, the only permanent thing in this life is change and if you are unwilling to change, you will feel this pain on your elbow.

Be flexible. If things do not go your way, take a step back and adjust your position to make things work for you.

According to Lori Dโ€™Ascenzo, hand pain means you are not connected with the people around you or you do not have that sense of belongingness. Go out and make connections by hanging out with friends or meeting new people.

Re-establish previous connections by reconnecting with friends and families.

8. Hip pain

Since our hips are connected to our legs, it hurts when we are afraid to move forward. This does not mean to physically move, but moving forward in life, says self-help guru and founder of Beyond Affirmations Barbara Clark.

It is important to remember that great accomplishments are achieved by taking a leap of faith and exploring the place beyond our comfort zones.
