How this teen boy came to the rescue of a young girl who got her first period on the bus

When a girl finally has her first period she will also be noticing other changes in her body. Despite menstruation being a normal occurrence for women, it can still be a terrifying experience especially when it is a girl’s first time having them.

Having a monthly period can be an alarming experience especially when one is not prepared for it. Women know how important it is to have a sanitary pad or a tampon, a comfortable pair of pants, and a pain reliever to survive an uncomfortable monthly period.

Unfortunately, monthly periods may come like a thief in the night. And when it occurs when one is unprepared, one may be set for an extremely embarrassing experience.

In this story, a young girl happened to have a horrifying experience when she had her menstruation for the very first time.

The young girl was inside their school bus and was on her way home when she realized that something unpleasant happened. As it turned out, the young girl had a stain due to her first period.

Since a lot of kids had noticed it as well, the girl was already preparing herself to hear the snide and rude comments of her fellow schoolmates. The same negative thought was going into her mind when a young teenage boy approached her.

To her surprise, the teenage boy came to her rescue. Out of concern, the boy had told her that she has a stain on her back. In addition, the young boy kindly gave his sweater to the poor girl in order to hide the stain from the public’s eyes.

The unexpected heroic deed of the young teenage boy became viral online when the mother of the young girl posted what happened on her Reddit account under the thread Little Humans Being Bros.

“My daughter started her period on the bus ride home today. A boy a year older than her…that she doesn’t really know…pulled her aside and whispered in her ear that she had a stain on the back of her pants and gave her his sweater to tie around her waist so she could walk off the bus.”  The concerned mother of the young girl shared the good deed of the teenage boy on Reddit.

“She said she was kind of embarrassed and originally said it’s okay, but the boy insisted and told her ‘I have sisters, it’s all good!’ If you are this boy’s mom, I want to say thank you and that you are raising him right!! We hear so many bad things about today’s youth and I wanted to share something positive!”

The concerned mother also extended her gratitude and respect to the mother of the young man for shaping his good character.

In less than an hour, the Reddit post received an overwhelming response. Some of the Redditors are commending the young teenage boy for doing what he did. While others are sharing their own stories similar to what the young girl has experienced.

“… It would be so tempting to make fun of her. And even if not that, very awkward to have this conversation with a stranger. He must have been awfully nice for your daughter to react how she did. I have a feeling your daughter made a friend for life.” A Redditor shared, emphasizing the kind heart the young teenager has.

“We need more people like this in the world! Good on him for looking out for others.” Another Redditor said, looking forward to hearing more stories of compassion.

“The same thing happened to me at a high school party! My period came two weeks early, I was in a white dress. Some guy gave me his jacket and asked his girlfriend for a tampon. Even came up with a cover story as to why I had a red stain on my dress. That was three years ago, and I’m still grateful.” Another Redditor said, sharing her unforgettable personal experience.

Usually, in times of period woes, it is a woman’s duty to help her fellow woman out. But the compassionate story posted on Reddit sure is refreshing and reassuring.

After all, it is great to know that there are young men out there who are ready to help out girls during this kind of situation. Kudos to the parents who are raising their sons right- you are definitely the hope of the next generation!
