This stylish geodesic tiny dome house is the perfect place for a quiet weekend getaway

If you’re looking for the perfect weekend escape, this futuristic dome house in Bend, Oregon, is the place to be.

The geodesic home—called “Dome Sweet Dome”—is located right off Century Drive and stands next to the hiking trails in the Deschutes National Forest. A quick bike ride will take you to the nearby Old Mill District or Downtown.

The house was closed for a couple of months because of COVID-19, but the rental has been opened again to accommodate those seeking to escape for a while.

Renovated in 2019, this two-bedroom home sits on a spacious and private lot. Once inside, the homey atmosphere and the light-colored interiors will instantly calm you.

Denise Gorman, the owner of the cabin, assures her future guests that they will not be disappointed as she and her husband Mike are committed to providing an outstanding home away from home experience for their clients.

And the hundreds of glowing feedback on their Airbnb page can vouch for this claim. Here are some of them:

“It is not an overstatement in the advertising that this is a must do and see place to stay.”

“Loved our stay here! We were impressed to find out it was from the 70s! They’ve made very nice updates to make the place very comfortable and fun. Denise was great about reaching out right before our stay so we knew what to expect. It’s a much bigger space than it looks and it had everything we needed.”

“Such a beautiful and unique AirBnb! The host was an excellent communicator and the Dome Sweet Dome is chalk full of thoughtful touches. Highly recommended!”

“The Dome was incredible! The views are gorgeous and it’s just such a cozy and interesting space overall. I can’t wait to stay here again. Denise was a great host – easy to reach and communicate with. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re ever lucky enough to catch an opening!”

If you’re tired of all the noise in the city, you’ll be pleased to know that the Dome Sweet Home is nestled in a peaceful location. The second story floats—meaning it doesn’t touch the walls—so audible sounds are open throughout.

The home can accommodate up to four guests. It has three beds and one bathroom. It also has a spacious deck outside where guests can grill and relax while enjoying the view of the trees and the sky. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset.

Due to safety concerns, guests are not allowed to bring pets or children under 6 years of age to the dome.
