Cat and her daughter Remy left the city for a peaceful life in their dream tiny house in the countryside.
Cat’s dream of living in a tiny house became a reality when their rental situation in Brisbane suddenly changed.
“They sold our apartment and gave us about eight weeks to find somewhere to stay,” Cat recalls. This unexpected event became the final push she needed.

With the help of friends who offered a beautiful spot on their property, Cat and Remy found the perfect place to park their tiny home.
Their new location is a dream come true. Surrounded by lush bushland, the tiny home offers peace and quiet, with beautiful views and the sounds of wildlife.
“It’s just so peaceful. You can hear all the animals in the morning and see all the wildlife hopping around. We love it,” says Cat.

Cat designed the tiny home from scratch, inspired by other models she had seen.
Blending the house into the natural environment was essential to her, leading her to choose pale eucalyptus cladding.
“From the day we put it here, it blended beautifully,” she explains.
The house is 8.4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and 4.3 meters high, efficiently using space without feeling cramped.
Large windows face the stunning views, allowing Cat to enjoy the sunset while preparing dinner.
The timber feature at the front adds a touch of warmth and breaks up the color scheme.

Cat’s commitment to sustainability is evident in her home. They collect rainwater and aim to live off the grid.
She explained that they still rely on the main house for electricity and rainwater collection.
Living in the country fulfills Cat’s lifelong dream.
Cat shares that she was raised in the country and has always wanted to return.
She loves nature around here and the simplicity of living in a tiny house.

Living in her dream tiny house has allowed her to declutter and focus on what truly matters, allowing her to enjoy life in a beautiful area.
Inside, the tiny home feels roomy and bright. The entrance is open and breezy, with glass in the walkway and louvers for airflow.
“I didn’t want to feel closed in,” Cat says.
Her workspace is at the breakfast bar, where she can enjoy the view while working or eating.
The couch is the main attraction, perfect for reading, watching movies on the projector, or hanging out with friends.

It even has drawers for Remy’s toys and can be turned into guest beds.
Remy’s loft bedroom is a cozy nook she loves.
Easy-to-climb steps lead to her private space, which has plenty of storage for her toys.

The loft has louvers that Remy can open to talk to her mom downstairs, maintaining a connection while allowing for privacy.
Cat wanted to ensure that Remy wouldn’t accidentally fall down the stairs, so she added a handmade macrame gate at the top of the stairs.
This gate is functional and beautiful, adding a unique touch to the home.
The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, with an open shower and a washing machine.

The shower’s lack of glass keeps the room feeling open, and the simple trick of turning on the fan prevents the shower curtain from clinging.
Cat’s dream tiny house beautifully blends practicality with aesthetic appeal.
The earthy tones and green color scheme connect the interior to the surrounding nature.

Living in their tiny home has brought Cat and Remy closer to nature and each other.
It is a place filled with love, creativity, and peace.
For Cat, it is not just a house but a true sanctuary.

“The simplicity, the nature, owning my own houseโit’s really satisfying,” she reflects.
Their tiny home journey is a testament to the beauty of living simply and mindfully.
