Have you ever imagined a tiny house so spacious it feels like a full-sized home? Mint Tiny House has made this a reality with the Orca, an innovative “extra-large tiny house” that redefines compact living.
This single-level park model home on wheels, guided by the creative vision of marketing expert Farai, measures 44 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 13.5 feet tall.
Designed for those seeking the comforts of a traditional home in a more sustainable footprint, the Orca offers a bright, open layout with no lofts, ladders, or stairs, setting it apart from the typical tiny house.

The Orca, an extra-large tiny house, features a fully equipped kitchen, two main-floor bedrooms, a roomy living area, a cozy bathroom, a full laundry room, and abundant storage.
Its high ceilings and clerestory windows create a bright and open atmosphere, making the space feel far larger than its 528-square-foot footprint.
Farai explains that the Orca is not just a tiny home; it’s a park model designed to withstand extreme temperatures.
“Our park models can handle -30° in winter, and in the summer, you have air conditioning and fans to keep cool. You can totally live in one year-round,” he says.

The home’s structure is insulated with spray foam in the walls, floors, and ceiling to ensure energy efficiency.
For heating, it’s equipped with electric baseboards, while a dual-zone split system provides additional heating and cooling.
The exterior connections include a 50-amp electricity hookup, a garden hose for fresh water, and a septic connection, making it suitable for permanent placement on land or within a tiny home community.
Functional design with thoughtful features

The kitchen is a highlight of the Orca, boasting ample storage with cupboards, a full-sized double fridge, and a propane oven with a stovetop.
“This is probably one of the biggest things people love about the Orca Edition – there’s so much room,” Farai shares.
The kitchen also includes Butcher Block veneer countertops, a single apron sink, and a dishwasher.
A dining area with enough space for four people ties the kitchen and living areas together, offering a cozy meal spot.

The living room features a fireplace and enough wall space to accommodate a 65-inch TV, making it ideal for entertaining or relaxing.
The high ceilings and large windows enhance the room’s airy feel. French doors open to an outdoor deck, blending indoor and outdoor living.
Bedrooms and storage: no sacrifices in space inside an extra-large tiny house
The Orca includes two ground-floor bedrooms. The main bedroom fits a king-sized bed, offers plenty of closet space, and features additional storage under the bed.
It also has direct access to the deck through a private door. The guest bedroom can accommodate a queen-sized bed and includes a built-in desk, making it versatile for work or hosting visitors.

Farai emphasizes the practicality of the design, saying, “You don’t have to compromise on storage. There’s enough room for clothes, workstations, and even more cabinetry in the laundry area.”
The laundry room has a full-sized washer, dryer, and extra storage, ensuring no wasted space.
A premium extra-large tiny house with practical considerations
The Orca’s bathroom includes a full shower with matte black fixtures, a conventional flush toilet, and a stylish basin sink.
Every detail reflects a balance of functionality and style, ensuring comfort in every corner of the home.

However, the home’s size and features come at a cost. Priced at CAD 231,000, the Orca is more expensive than smaller tiny homes due to its larger footprint and materials.
Transportation also requires a heavy-duty truck and a pilot vehicle, as the house weighs approximately 27,000 lbs.
Despite these challenges, Farai believes their extra-large tiny house is worth it.
“This really mimics what you’d experience in a normal house but on wheels. It’s perfect for downsizers, sustainable living enthusiasts, or anyone who loves tiny homes but doesn’t want to sacrifice space.”

A new era of tiny living in an extra-large tiny house
The Orca offers a unique solution for those seeking a comfortable, stylish, and sustainable lifestyle in an “extra-large tiny house.”
Whether parked on private land or within a tiny home community, the Orca combines the best of traditional homes with the flexibility of a tiny house, making it a standout in the growing trend of compact living.
“Once it’s in place, you’ve got a beautiful home,” Farai says. “It’s more than a house on wheels – it’s a lifestyle.”
