A doorbell cam can capture various stories—funny, sad, scary, you name it. In a heartwarming twist, one such cam recently caught an encounter between a food delivery person and a customer that has since gone viral online.
Osiris Wichman, a Chicago resident, posted a TikTok video from her doorbell camera.
It captures her giving a generous tip to a food delivery person, empathizing with their late-night work as a single mom. The delivery person reciprocates with a heartfelt hug during the exchange.
“You just never know when you’ll be someone’s answered prayer,” Osiris said.
She recalled her mother working various jobs such as fast food, factories, and cleaning, often changing jobs due to her immigration status.
She pleaded with her mother to let her help support the household. Although her mother, like any immigrant parent, wanted her to focus on school, she couldn’t bear to see her struggle.
So, she did what she could to assist while looking after her younger sister. The video quickly went viral with millions of views.
The caption expressed empathy for the single mom’s financial need, reflecting on the experience of being raised by a single mom who also worked late shifts. The food delivery person was visibly moved to tears by this touching gesture.
People online were delighted by Wichman’s kindness, with many praising the single mom for her gesture. A comment highlighted the impact of the long hug, noting how it seemed to pause the video momentarily and how it brightened the recipient’s day or night.
A TikTok user recounted receiving a huge tip while working for Amazon Flex, which they used to finance their son’s graduation.
They explained in the video caption that they give larger tips to late-shift workers because they understand the challenges firsthand.
Osiris discussed his husband’s adoption due to financial difficulties faced by his biological mother during his childhood in an interview with Newsweek.
He emphasized their commitment to helping others, influenced by the roles their mothers played in their lives. Meanwhile, Osiris responded to a request on TikTok by reposting the video with sound.
On the doorbell cam video, the food delivery person expresses gratitude to Osiris as the extra tip can help her pay her rent.
Osiris shared with Newsweek that the delivery worker contacted her, revealing she faced eviction. Another doorbell camera captured a funny moment where an expectant dad accidentally disclosed the gender of their unborn child to his pregnant wife, prompting him to clarify the situation.

Disaster struck when the gender reveal balloon unexpectedly burst into blue confetti. Simon, concerned about discovering the gender before his wife, spoke with the Amazon-owned home security company.
Unbeknownst to him, Bronagh watched the incident live on the doorbell camera, alerted by its motion detector notification. She called her husband and asked: “What just happened?! Have we literally just found out what we’re having?” Simon told Ring that he felt a mix of emotions during the call.
Still, most importantly, he was relieved and happy to know that his wife had witnessed the reveal at the same time he did. Despite the hiccup, Simon and Bronagh ensured that everyone at their gender reveal party still enjoyed the surprise and had a good time.
“To be honest we had to play along with the whole thing and make sure no one else knew that we found out before the new balloon had popped, as we didn’t want to ruin the surprise for everyone else,” he said.
