There is no greater way to pat a parent’s back than finding out that they are doing a great job in raising their children. And how else could they know that they are on the right track than by looking at the actions of their offspring? After all, actions do speak louder than words.
A father of two sons, Daniel Medina of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is having a #ProudDad moment when he witnessed the selflessness of his two kids in action.
The proud father was together with his two sons who were 6 and 10 years old then. In the middle of the chilling winter evening, Daniel was driving with his two kids when they passed by a man sitting on his wheelchair. The man was not only alone, he was also struggling to shovel the thick and heavy blanket of snow that piled up on his property.
It is no wonder why seeing the man all alone as he struggled to free his property from snow pulls strings to your heart. After all, it is very easy to sympathize with one another. However, empathizing with other people is not.
Amazingly, Daniel’s little sons have a heart made out of gold. Instead of simply pitying the man as they passed by, the two kids hastily asked their father to stop the car. Why? To lend their small but mighty helping hands.
Touched by his little ones’ selfless request, Daniel happily agreed. The proud dad stopped the car and let his two sons jump out to do what they have to do.
Without wasting any time, the two inspiring kids lend their strength to clear the thick blanket of snow that piled up on the lone man’s property. Of course, Daniel helped out as well.
Beaming with pride and joy, Daniel couldn’t get over the samaritan deed of his sons. And so the proud father shared a photo of his two kids helping out the wheelchair bound man.
Along with the photo is the caption which reads: “Proud dad moment we’re driving down s60th st near Morgan and my two sons aged 10 and 6 asked me to pull over because they just saw a guy in a wheelchair trying to shovel his corner lot and they wanted to help.”
The photo and the story which Daniel uploaded on his Facebook account and Love What Matters, quickly caught the attention of the internet. His sons heartwarming compassion for the wheelchair bound man touched the heart of thousands of people.
A lot of people who have read their story expressed admiration for the two kids and to Daniel as well for raising them with a kind and compassionate heart.
“Guess the kids are practicing what they see at home. I have always maintained children practice what they see more often than what we tell them. Be sure your actions always says more than your words!!!” A Facebook user said, commending Daniel for setting a good example to his kids.
“All that shows is the boys have been raised to respect others. Great job raising your two young gentleman Dad!!! Thank you!” Another Facebook user exclaimed, giving the helpful little ones’ parents a thumbs up.
“It’s just such a good feeling to see two young men with compassion in their hearts toward others. Bravo boys.” Another Facebook user said, praising the two boys for their honorable samaritan deed.
The little boys may have ended the day feeling cold and tired from the hard work they poured. But they surely slept that night with a warm smile on their face and a fulfilled heart.
Daniel’s respectable little ones sure serve as a reminder of what great things kids are capable of. In such a young age of 6 and 10 years old, they know very well how important it is to help one another. May their story serve as a beautiful inspiration to always lend a helping hand to those who need it the most!
