The sign also mentioned that the dances would be filmed for social media, and so far, customers have been more than willing to join in on the fun.

The clip is set to Los del Río’s “Macarena” and starts with a woman who kicks off her shoes to bust a move, followed by folks doing Irish jigs, waltzes, flossing, conga lines, and so much more.

The happy faces of the dancers are also reflected in the video’s comments section, which garnered more than 7 million views and over 15,000 comments.

After posting the sign, the coffee shop shared a TikTok video that quickly went viral.

The video quickly gained attention and sparked positive reactions from viewers. One TikTok user wrote, “This is such a good way to spread positivity.” At the same time, another commented, “Girl took off her shoes and moonwalked! She deserved 2 cups.”

Many others expressed their emotional responses, with one user posting, “Why am I crying?! This makes me sooo happy,” and others agreeing they were equally moved.

Josh Rashid, the cafe’s owner, told TODAY.com that he was inspired by a similar promotion at a pizza shop. “I was like, ‘This is genius,'” he said.

The next day, the cafe’s social media manager posted a teaser about the promotion on Facebook, and a sign was placed on the door.

Around 15 to 20 people showed up to dance, an experience Josh described as “cool.” He was excited by the overwhelmingly positive feedback in the comments section.

“You know, life isn’t always easy,” he says. “Sometimes you just see something that puts the greatest smile on your face, and it brings tears to your eyes.”

Customers have been asking for more dance-for-coffee events, and the cafe’s social media is already hinting at the next one, as per the WVTM 13.

Josh says many customers are surprised to learn that dancing gives them free coffee.

The idea has responded positively, with many customers noting the fun atmosphere.

“I can’t believe with the response you know,” customer Bob Hadsell said. “It was just everybody having fun, that’s what I saw.”

Others have commented that the event has helped unite people, with many asking when the next one will be held.

For the past two years, Josh has focused on building community at his cafe, supporting local artists like Patrick Murphy by displaying and selling their work.

The dance-for-coffee trend has even caught the attention of other businesses.

On Black Friday, the promotion will return, this time with Loan Depot in Norwell covering the cost of the free coffee. Last time, the cafe gave out about 35 coffees.

“Just keep dancing,” he says. “Enjoy life. It’s short. It’s fun. We have good days, we have bad days, but sometimes a coffee and a dance makes it all better.”
