Bronnie Ware’s tiny home reflects a life guided by purpose, simplicity, and gratitude.
Bronnie Ware, the bestselling author of “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying,” which has sold over a million copies in 32 languages, has created a home that embodies the lessons she has spent decades sharing with the world.

Nestled on nearly 32 acres of the Australian bush, Bronnie’s property balances the intimacy of a tiny home with expansive natural surroundings.
“I really loved the idea of a small home but a lot of space. And when I first came here, I sort of thought 5 acres with a small house would be fine, but then I fell in love with this land as a paddock and bought 32 acres and had to put a house on it instead,” Bronnie said.
Her love for the land was inspired by the sky and wildlife.
“I bought the place because of the sky… And then when I went up to the hill here and I saw the sky, I just thought, ‘I can breathe here.’ And so it was the sky that brought me here, but it’s the rocks and the wildlife that will keep me here.”
For Bronnie, the tiny home lifestyle is an extension of the lessons she wrote about.
“The journey of Five Regrets has taught me a lot about being grateful with enough and courage to have no regrets and the benefit of living simply.”

Features and specifications of Bronnie Ware’s tiny home
Bronnie Ware’s tiny home blends modern design with eco-conscious construction.
Built using Hempcrete—a natural material that insulates and regulates humidity—the house remains comfortable in both summer and winter.
“I’m in love with Hempcrete. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with it,” Bronnie explained.
The exterior resembles a shipping container but is slightly wider, providing more interior space without requiring a specialized transport vehicle.

European double-glazed windows open in two directions, letting in natural light and fresh air while connecting the home to its surroundings.
The main house measures 12 meters by 3.4 meters, while the office building measures 6 meters by 3.4 meters.
The office doubles as a teen retreat, with a fold-out lounge accommodating up to five sleepover guests.

The property operates fully off-grid, including water tanks, solar panels, and a wood supply for heating. “I ended up not using the gas at all. I’ve got my own water supply through the tanks. I’ve got my own power supply for everything. And I’ve got my own wood supply. So, it feels very free in a way that I didn’t know I craved,” Bronnie said.
The house and office cost AUD 150,000 (USD 106,185), with additional expenses for the shed, water tanks, solar system, and landscaping bringing the total to just over AUD 210,000 (USD 148,659)—a modest price for such independence and comfort.

Rooms, function, and thoughtful design of the tiny home
Lounge and Kitchen
The lounge and kitchen form the heart of Bronnie Ware’s tiny home. Lime-washed Hempcrete walls create a cozy, nurturing atmosphere.
An electric chair helps Bronnie when needed, and the fireplace keeps the home warm in winter.

“It burns down quick because we have such small logs. But at the same time, it’s so toasty, and the ambience of the light at night is beautiful,” she said.
The kitchen is functional and space-efficient. A walk-through pantry maximizes storage, while a small cabinet extends counter space.
“Once I moved in, I also ended up putting in this cabinet here. And so now it’s really lovely because it extends the kitchen. And I think no building journey is perfect.”

Daughter’s Bedroom
Bronnie’s daughter has a personalized bedroom with a wardrobe she designed herself.
The room balances comfort and practicality, allowing her to enjoy outdoor life while staying connected to the home.
“She even says, ‘Mom, look, look, there’s a wallaby with its joey right at the back gate!’ or ‘Look, there’s some deer under the tree!’ So it’s getting into her essence anyway,” Bronnie said.

Bathroom
The bathroom is spacious for a tiny home, with a rainwater shower and a composting toilet.
Hempcrete walls regulate moisture, preventing mold, and the layout comfortably accommodates both Bronnie and her daughter.
“It’s a beautiful rainwater shower and a composting toilet which I really love,” she said.

Master Bedroom
Bronnie’s master bedroom is a calm, personal retreat, painted soft pink and featuring a king-size bed chosen as a symbol of her long journey to success.
“It took me 14 years to become an overnight success with my writing… I made a promise to myself that when my work finally broke through, I was going to buy the most beautiful bed on the planet… It’s very symbolic to me.”
Storage is generous, making the small space both functional and comfortable.

Living simply: Insights from Bronnie Ware’s tiny home
For Bronnie, living in a tiny home means freedom, peace, and a strong connection to nature.
Mortgage-free, she can focus on creative work and meaningful experiences without the weight of financial burdens.

“By not going for a really big house, it means I don’t have a mortgage for the first time in my life. So that is very freeing… I live in rhythm with the seasons of the day. I notice when the sun comes up. I notice when the golden hour passes. I can feel the lengthening of the shadows in the afternoon. I feel like a big part of living here is that it has connected me with the elements of nature in a way that I find very healing for my body and for my soul,” she explained.

Bronnie Ware’s tiny home proves that true comfort comes not from size, but from thoughtful design, intentional living, and alignment with one’s values.
It is a sanctuary, a creative space, and a daily reminder that simplicity, freedom, and gratitude can transform life.
