The Instagram baby superstar with the luscious locks you simply could not help but envy has officially become a hair model! Baby Chanco whose Instagram account has a massive 317k followers from different countries all over the world is the new face of Pantene Japan.
Her mom, Mami Kano, embraced her unique crowning glory and posted her lovely photos online. Since then, the then 7-month-old Baby Chanco took Instagram by storm. And showed the world what true #HairGoals look like! Her photos paved the way to her immense popularity, not only in Japan but in many countries as well. Her fans hail from the lands of Brazil, America, and Australia to name a few. In fact we featured their story a couple of months ago on this site.
“I’m so surprised with the reaction, but also very proud of the praise from many countries.” The proud mother, who has always been Baby Chanco’s number 1 fan, shared how full her heart is for all the love and support her little child is getting.
Now that baby Chanco turned 1-year-old last Decemeber 23, 2018, her hair has become fuller, longer, and even more beautiful. And it seems like not only her hundred thousand Instagram followers loved the adorable baby’s unique hair. As it turned out even the President of Global Hair Care & Beauty Sector at P&G, Alex Keith, could not resist Chanco’s charm. Alex Keith believes that the Instagram superstar deserves her own hair commercial.
The P&G Japan Hair Care Associate Brand Director, Yoshiaki Okura, reached out to Mami Kano to turn their plan into a reality.
“We went straight to her mother because Chanco’s personality and special character matches our image for women we want to support.” Yoshiaki Okura shared in an interview.
After reaching an agreement, Chanco, together with Japan’s television announcer, Sato Kondo debut on January 7 as Pantene’s new faces. The advertising poster of Baby Chanco with her healthy and bouncy full locks side-by-side with Sato Kondo’s stunning and elegant gray hair looks perfect for the message Pantene Japan is sending to women this 2019. And that is no other than, embracing positive thoughts and braving the new year through their hair.
“We feel [Chanco’s] beautiful hair has strong power that makes people positively move forward,” Yoshiaki Okura explained. “And we also support her mother’s positiveness to post wonderful moments with Chanco.”
Encouraging people, especially women, to embrace their unique features, Pantene also launched Baby Chanco’s digital video entitled The Hairy Tale. The video tells a story about Chanco and her full locks and how her lovely photos inspired other moms to accept and love the things about their child that set them apart from everyone.
