Italian police cook pasta for elderly couple after neighbors heard them crying

The police exists to serve and protect the general public. Because of this, it is only understandable that in times of dire need such as an emergency, people seek their help.

When a neighborhood in Italy heard of distressed cries coming from the home of an elderly couple, they feared for the worse. Concerned for the welfare of the two seniors, they immediately called the police in order to help out the couple.

Perhaps, there was a burglar who had entered the home of the elderly couple, or maybe an unpleasant accident happened.

The police authorities and the concerned neighbors were thinking along these lines as well. Thus, they were taken a back when they found out the real reason behind the loud cries of the old couple.

As it turned out, while watching the news shown in their television, the 94-year-old Jole and 84-year-old Michele, were deeply saddened by the state of the world.

In addition, it’s been months since the last time that someone dropped by to visit them. It seemed that the loneliness and news filled with negativity took a toll on the mindset of the couple. And so, the couple found themselves crying their hearts out.

Feeling for the old couple, the four police authorities who responded made it a point to brighten up their day. And in their desire to make Jole and Michele feel better, they decided to cook a warm meal for the couple.

When Jole and Michele accepted their kind offer, the police authorities could not ignore what they have seen on the couple’s kitchen. It seemed that the old couple only have a few items inside their fridge. Because they wanted to check if Jole and Michele are healthy for their age, they also called for an ambulance.

While waiting for the paramedics to arrive, the four police respondents made the most out of the available ingredients they found. And before they knew it, they were happily sharing a simple but hearty dinner made out of spaghetti, butter, and cheese.

The kind gesture of the four police respondents were shared on their Police Headquarter’s Facebook page. Together with the sentimental photo of Jole and Michele, the police authorities also narrated what transpired in Jole and Michele’s home when they responded to the call in their neighborhood.

The photo and the story posted on their Facebook page reached more than 28,000 shares and about 83,000 reactions as well. Most netizens left comments, praising the priceless kind gesture that the four cops showered Jole and Michele.

“Sweet cop, these people just need tender love and care. Thankful that the cops gave them that.” A Facebook user said.

“We love our men and women in law enforcement! Thank You for your service and sacrifice!” Another Facebook user exclaimed, thankful for the good heart of the four cops.

“God is blessing this elderly couple with two Angels who have a whole lot of love in their hearts!” Another Facebook user said, happy that the couple found the companions they were yearning for at such a perfect time.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau there are over 11 million of American senior citizens aged 65 years old and above who live by themselves. Although it sure is admirable to see them being capable of looking after themselves despite their old age, it is undeniable that they do feel lonely at times.

Thus, to help keep their physical, emotional, and mental health always at its finest, may we be reminded that they need someone to spend time with as well. May we always keep them in our minds and in our hearts.
