The prom is one of the highlights of a teenager’s high-school life. It is a fun celebration of our adolescence and part of the tradition is asking someone to be your date that eventful night. High school senior Katie Kelzenberg asked Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to prom through Twitter and her social media post immediately went viral.
In the viral Twitter video, Katie brought out her A game — she was dressed to impress. Cleverly, she wore “The Rock’s” signature turtleneck-fanny-pack combo in the “promposal”, and in no time at all her video reached the Rampage star’s Twitter feed.
It was found out that Katie of Stillwater Area High School was turned down by guys she previously asked to accompany her to the end-of-the- year celebration. Not one who gets easily discouraged, Katie then goes after a bigger “fish” to take to her to the prom.

Katie did not receive a personal reply from The Rock. She thought that would have been the end of it. However, the action star made sure that his message gets to Katie in a loud way! A pre-recorded message from Johnson was played on the loudspeaker of the school. [see video below]
To sum things up: The Rock cannot make it to the prom due to a conflict in schedule. He is currently busy in the film production of his new movie. However, he rented out a theater for Katie and 230 of her closest friends to see Rampage for free.
It is still unknown who will take Katie to her prom, but her chances of getting a date became higher. Boys have to step up now!
This is not the first time that people ask celebrities to be their date at the prom. It worked a number of times. Stars like Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Drake, and Katy Perry grant their fans’ wishes to go to the prom with them.
Most of these celebrities were unable to go to their own prom making it exciting for them to go to the prom of their fans.
This is the type of behavior we love to see from celebrities. Instead of ignoring his fans, Dwayne takes the extra step to show his appreciation! However, only The Rock is capable of renting a movie theater, popping out of a mascot costume, and simply trolling the hell out of an admirer.
