Joe and his nephew established Mountain Shire, a fantasy-themed tiny house hotel in Tennessee, introducing their latest addition, the “House of Dragon,” among their collection of tiny houses.
Inspired by the serene landscapes of the Shire from “Lord of the Rings,” Joe admired its inhabitants’ peaceful and content lifestyle.
Joe, feeling a kinship with Hobbit temperament and drawn to rustic, traditional Hobbit architecture, teamed up with his nephew Justin to establish Mountain Shire.

They collaborated on developing the land and designing tiny houses, combining Joe’s interests and practical skills.
Mountain Shire sits on a mountainside, where Joe and his nephew Justin spent almost a year clearing the land, leveling the ground, and setting up essential utilities such as water and septic systems.
Stepping through the round door transports guests into a Shire-inspired environment.
Every tiny house, meticulously built by Justin and Joe over several months, showcases their artistic decisions and craftsmanship.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the distinctive charm of the House of the Dragon.
The House of Dragons is among the houses at the fantasy-themed tiny house hotel with newer and most distinctive tiny houses. Justin thinks visitors will really like it.
This house was renovated after Justin and his team bought it from someone who couldn’t move in.
“We bought it from somebody else who unfortunately wasn’t able to move into it. Fortunately for us, we got it, we fixed it up, we turned it into this beautiful dragon design,” Justine shared.

They turned it into a beautiful dragon-themed design, inspired by “House of Dragon,” “Lord of the Rings,” and “The Hobbit,” as there are dragons in these series.
Justin and his team built a unique cedar and shingle awning here. They also added special features such as a distinctive lamp and an impressive knocker.
Like their other tiny houses, this one has a round door framed by bricks, and they use cedar rounds to create a decorative pattern.

They put much effort into making this tiny house distinctive and memorable.
The tiny house’s roof is decorated with dragons. The landscaping here is especially unique compared to their other tiny houses.
They’ve gone the extra mile with features like a willow tree and a planter box.
Justin has a particular fondness for roses, which have a symbolic link to dragons, visible both inside and outside the house.
“So, a lot of people don’t know this, but roses are actually associated with dragons. They kind of go hand in hand,” he said.

On the backside, guests can open a large circular window to enjoy the view. The siding is made from plained slabs and attached to the exterior wall.
In the kitchen, there’s a full sink and a refrigerator. Above, there’s a nice microwave.
There’s also a small setup with ferns and Christmas lights adorned with various figurines.

A dragon hobby scene with lights is set against the fern backdrop, creating a cool effect.
Moving into the living room, there’s a custom-made daybed crafted from cedar poles.
Guests really appreciate the daybed. They can relax, watch TV, read, or take a nap on it.

Justin and a carpenter friend put it together over a few extra days, investing much effort into it.
Justin believes the handmade touch adds to its appeal. There’s also a Middle Earth map on the wall.
Guests can locate themselves on the mapโwhether in the Shire, Gondor, or elsewhereโwhich adds to the room’s charm.
Justin designed the bathroom to resemble an old gem mine, giving it a unique charm.

The gently curved walls are adorned with embedded gems.
There’s a traditional shower in the space.
He added a modern touch with a motion sensor mirror that lights up when waved in front, offering a clear view of one’s face.
Moving to the loft space, it’s the only tiny house with a king-size bed, providing plenty of room.

Guests can open the skylight above to admire the stars while relaxing in bed. It creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere overall.
