‘Heroic’ man instinctively ran toward neighbor who started her jogging routine for the first time

A funny home security camera moment captured a woman going for a run when she was interrupted by her neighbor, who thought she was in trouble.

The woman, Anna Boswell, from Van Alstyne, Texas, had just begun her jog when her friend, Stanley Golden, rushed over to check on her.

Boswell later shared the lighthearted exchange on TikTok, where the video quickly went viral, gaining over 11 million views since September 13.

“CACKLING ☠️ Protect my neighbor at all costs. He had no idea what I was running from but he was READY to help!” Anna captioned the video.

In an interview with “Good Morning America,” Boswell revealed she recently started running five days a week to train for a half marathon in December.

This new routine marks a change from her usual schedule as she balances her role as a mother of two young children.

She explained that her youngest child had just turned 1, and she thought, “Let’s get back into it.” Because she has no chill, she decided to run a half marathon, and that is how it all started.

Anna shared that Stanley noticed her while heading out for her evening run.

In the captured home security camera moment, Stanley asks, “Are you OK? Everything OK?” Boswell responds, “Yeah! Just going on a run.”

Boswell, 34, emphasized that their exchange showcased Golden’s caring personality.

Meanwhile, Stanley, 37, explained to “GMA” that he was playing basketball outside when he noticed Boswell running away from her home.

He didn’t know if she was in immediate danger or what was happening, so he immediately stopped what he was doing and ran to check on her because he hadn’t seen that routine before.

The video has attracted more than 10,000 comments from viewers delighted and confused by Stanley’s concern.  

One comment highlighted that he seemed unsure if he should be running. At the same time, another remarked that he understood the situation but remained confused. 

Later, Anna referred to Stanley as “America’s sweetheart.”

“He is just genuine and was looking out for friends and family, and we’re lucky to have him as a neighbor,” she said. She added that she believed the world would be better with more people like Stanley.
