Family decides to pull the plug off woman in coma, amazingly she whispers: ‘I am a fighter’

There is nothing more heartbreaking nor devastating than losing a loved one. Just the thought of not seeing them ever again, not being able to hug them again, nor say the words we would have wanted them to hear definitely pain the heart. Lyndee’s family faced this kind of nightmare when she was found unconscious by her son.

“Everything can be taken away. You can wake up one day and everything is fine, and then your life is a mess,” Steven shared in an interview about the value of family. “Keep your family close and don’t let them go.”

Pellettiere – Swapp was welcomed home with a grim discovery — finding his beloved 45-year old mother, Lyndee, lying unconscious on the floor. Greatly alarmed, Steven dialed 9-1-1 and soon after, his mother was rushed to the hospital.

Lyndee was admitted in the emergency, however, despite the given first aid, she was unresponsive, staying in a state of coma for almost two weeks. For the entire duration of Lyndee’s hospitalization, all of the members of her beloved family showed how she means a lot to them by visiting her every day, even if she was totally unresponsive.

And each day, Lyndee’s husband would faithfully encourage her to fight for her life, to live. Every day he would whisper in her ears words of encouragement,“I need you to be a fighter.”

As days go on, doctors cannot observe nor is unable to get any signs that Lyndee is indeed fighting for her life. And although Lyndee was not technically brain-dead, twelve days after being comatose, the family is preparing to face the worse, Lyndee might not wake-up again.

There are no words in this world that could paint how devastating it is for a family to let go of a mother… a wife. And although Lyndee’s family don’t want to lose hope that she will get through this, they need to honor Lyndee’s desire to help others after her death. Being a registered organ donor, her family had decided to pull the plug of her life support. They also notified the medical staff to secure a line-up of people who will receive the transplant from Lyndee.

Tearfully, everyone were saying their final goodbyes, words of love and words of thanks. However, despite knowing that in just a matter of minutes her life support would be plugged off, Lyndee’s husband continued to express his hope that she will survive through this.

“I need you to fight,” he repeatedly said to her. “I need you to fight.”

And just like how it happens in movies, miraculously, Lyndee was able to choke out the words“I’m a fighter.”

Lyndee was taken off life support, fully conscious and shows no sign of any health problem.

“I don’t consider it a miracle but everybody else, that’s how they reference it,” Lyndee shared her perception of what happened in an interview.

According to Lyndee, she could hear everything that transpired in her hospital room when she was in a state of coma.

“I remember everybody talking to me,” Lyndee revealed. “I remember when people came to visit, what conversations — I remember my niece reading to me.” Lyndee shared how she can even recall hearing doctors and her beloved family talking about taking her off of life support.

“[Doctors] told [my family] that I would start to make noises when they turned off life support. It was very agitating. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk, couldn’t respond. I could just hear everybody having conversations around me and about me,” Lyndee recounted.

“I remember a doctor opening my eyes, messing with me, and telling my family I was not reacting.”

Lyndee told how she was desperately fighting for her life, just like what her dutiful husband wanted her to do. But no matter how hard she tried she just cannot spear nor move.

Thankfully, her husband did not lose hope and with faith and conviction, persistently reminded her of how much he needed her, of how much he needs her to fight for her life.

Now that Lyndee and her family were able to survive through it all, they are giving it all they’ve got to spend time with her. Knowing how invaluable Lyndee is, her son, Steven shared how he no longer take for granted the blessing of coming home and being able to kiss his mom.
