Fighting the tears threatening to fall, Howard wiped his eyes. Laura looked him in the eye and told him again and again I love you.” To which Howard replied with an “I love you too my!”

Being a devoted husband, Howard did not waste the last time he get to spend with his dying wife. For the last time, Howard serenaded Laura with their favorite love song. The song entitled, You’ll never know, has always been their song for each other, even in times when Howard was away, fighting in world war II.

“At family gatherings, it was not uncommon for the two of them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading the other. In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception.” Howard’s grand-daughter, Erin Solari of New Orleans shared how much the song means to the old couple.

Howard sang to his wife with his eyes locked into hers, and his hands stroking her… cherishing their numbered moment. Laura, on the other hand, was trying her best to sing back to her husband, mouthing the lyrics of the song that has comforted her a number of times before.

Howard’s grand-daughter, Erin recorded the special moment between Howard and Laura in a videotape in hopes of keeping a long-lasting memory of their love.

“We knew that this was probably the last time, so we wanted to capture that moment,” Solari explained in an interview. “It was really loving.”

Howard and Laura’s truly admirable profession and gesture of love for each other was posted online by Solari. Soon after, the video has garnered more than 3.7 million of views and was shared countless of times. Tugging and melting the hearts of millions of viewers.

“For me, right after the video, I was so overcome… I broke down and started crying. I was so happy that I’d captured this moment for my family. It touched me, so it doesn’t surprise me that it touched other people as well.” Solari admitted how much the love her grandparents have for each other warmed her heart.

According to Solari, the outpour of love demonstrated by her grandparents lifted everyone’s spirit, and that includes Laura’s as well! In fact, when Laura found out that their video became viral, she jokingly said…  “I told you Howard that I’d make you famous.”
