Couple stunned to become parents of ultra-rare quadruplets without fertility treatment

A New Jersey couple celebrates a once-in-a-lifetime family milestone after welcoming naturally conceived quadruplets. This extraordinary and rare birth amazed both doctors and loved ones.

Aja Kennon and her fiancé, Emmanuel Volmar, had always dreamed of growing their family. Already raising their 8-year-old son, EJ, the couple hoped to add one more child, per the NY Post.

At first, Aja thought she might be carrying twins. Her belly grew faster than during her first pregnancy, and she strongly felt something was different.

That hunch proved true during a routine ultrasound, where the technician spotted not two—but three—tiny heads.

Doctors say the odds range from one in 700,000 to one in a million, making their rare birth even more special.

“Once we found out that we were having quadruplets, we immediately got the ball rolling. From the moment we found out, we were just, like, ‘Okay, let’s get the show on the road,’” Aja shared.

The babies were born on July 1 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.

Because naturally conceived quadruplets are so rare, over 20 medical staff were present to assist with the delivery. Each baby had their own team ready at birth.

“There was a whole football team in there,” Emmanuel said jokingly in an earlier interview.

The delivery went smoothly. Aja gave birth to all four babies—three boys and one girl—about a minute apart, starting at 10:59 a.m. All four were healthy and able to go home shortly after.

The boys were named Ean, Evan, and Eamon, each beginning with the same letter as their dad’s name. Their sister, Alayha, shares an “A” with mom.

For Aja and Emmanuel, finding out about their naturally conceived quadruplets was unforgettable—not only because of the odds but because of the timing.

They learned the news on April Fools’ Day, which led many friends and relatives to think it was a joke.

And despite the challenges of carrying so many babies at once, Aja’s natural pregnancy went better than expected.

Aja shared in an earlier interview that she was surprised by how easy the pregnancy was. Despite carrying quadruplets, she said it was smoother than expected.

She worked full-time as a USPS mail carrier until she reached seven months.

Aja believes the daily walking helped her body stay strong and prepare for the demands of a high-risk pregnancy.

Now, the couple is learning to navigate life with five children—something they never planned for but fully embrace.

“We are overjoyed, filled with love and gratitude — but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t overwhelmed, too,” Aja wrote in a heartfelt message shared publicly.

Raising quadruplets: a new chapter begins

Bringing home four newborns was just the beginning. Their daily routine is filled with bottle feedings, diaper changes, and a constant rotation of baby care.

To keep up, they’ve leaned heavily on preparation—and the help of family.

Emmanuel’s mother has moved in to assist, offering extra hands and much-needed support. Their oldest child, EJ, has also taken on a new role as big brother and helper.

He proudly changes diapers and feeds bottles, especially for his baby sister, whom he’s extra gentle with.

But even with the help, caring for quadruplets has its challenges.

“It’s never-ending, and then before you know it, it’s time to feed them again,” Emmanuel told The Post.

Despite the sleepless nights, the family remains positive, committed, and deeply connected.

Naturally conceived quadruplets bring community support

With four newborns to care for, the costs quickly add up.

According to BECU and the National Diaper Bank Network, New Jersey couple can expect to spend around $4,000 a year on diapers alone.

To help cover the expenses, the couple created a GoFundMe page to raise support for baby needs, transportation, and medical bills.

The response has been heartwarming. Local mom groups in New Jersey have flooded the family with love messages.

Some people, including former classmates Aja hadn’t seen in years, reached out to donate or organize meal trains.

Their home is now filled with donated diapers, wipes, and baby clothes.

Thanks to their generous community, they haven’t had to purchase supplies yet—proof of how a rare birth like theirs can unite people.

“Everybody’s as shocked as we were when we found out,” Aja said. “We’re pretty much the center of attention.”

While their wedding plans are on hold—they hope to tie the knot when all five children can walk—the couple is focused on the present: raising their children with love, patience, and faith.
