A functional tiny home designed by Eujenne and Laurin proves that size isn’t a barrier to comfort and style.
This ultra-compact dwelling, packed with surprising features, showcases innovative space-saving techniques and clever storage solutions.
The tiny house, designed and built by Eujenne and Laurin, offers a perfect example of how a functional tiny home can be stylish and practical without sacrificing comfort.

From vision to reality: the beginning of the journey
Eujenne and Laurin’s journey into the world of tiny homes began long before they ever started building their own.
The couple first met in high school at 17, and it wasnโt long before they shared a dream of creating a tiny house.
Over the years, they gained hands-on experience in the tiny home industry, working with other builders to learn the ins and outs of the design and construction process.

After much planning, the pair set out to create their own functional tiny home, determined to build it with their own two hands.
Laurin explained, “We started working with tiny house businesses to understand the concept. Over time, we figured out how we could make it happen.”

After designing the home, they spent over two years on weekends DIYing the build, with guidance from friends and family.
The experience taught them new skills and made them more confident in their ability to build a home that met their needs.
Choosing the perfect spot: a dream location
One of the most critical decisions for Eujenne and Laurin was where to park their tiny home.
The couple wanted a spot to enhance the experience of living in a tiny house, and they found the perfect place by the ocean.

Laurin shared, “We just built the house and had no idea where weโd put it. Luckily, just as we were finishing, we found this awesome spot.”
This dream location allows them to enjoy breathtaking views while embracing the compact nature of their functional tiny home.
“It was a one-day decision, and we havenโt regretted it since,” Laurin added.

The stunning ocean views and the peaceful setting make this parking spot a defining feature of their tiny home experience.
Design and layout: maximizing function and style
The tiny home’s design was carefully thought out, with Eujenne and Laurin focusing on maximizing every inch of space.
The house measures 6.2 by 2.4 meters, which is relatively small but allows for a highly functional living space.
They chose a Scandinavian minimalist style, reflected in the homeโs sleek lines and natural materials.

The couple opted for Norwegian pine on the exterior of the tiny home. This durable, weather-resistant wood requires minimal upkeep.
Laurin explained, “We chose it because itโs cost-effective and doesnโt require treatment all the time.โ โPlus, we love the natural silver look,โ Eujenne added.
Every area is efficiently utilized, from the full-size kitchen to the cleverly designed bathroom.
Eujenne and Laurinโs functional tiny home includes a full kitchen, fridge, oven, and ample storage.

A pull-out pantry for spices and essentials was also added to keep everything within reach. Despite the compact space, the kitchen is perfect for their cooking needs.
“It was important to us to have a full-size kitchen, even in a tiny home,” Laurin said.
Space-saving features: smart storage and multifunctional areas
One of the home’s standout features is its creative approach to storage. The bathroom, while small, is cleverly designed with a vanity that doubles as storage.
The 900mm-wide bathroom includes a shower, toilet, and a beautiful sink that adds style without compromising space.

“We didnโt want the toilet to take up the whole space,” Laurin explained, “so itโs tucked away under the vanity, which also offers a lot of storage.”
The sleeping loft is another space-saving feature that adds functionality to the tiny home.
The loft is spacious enough for a queen-sized bed, providing Eujenne and Laurin with a cozy retreat.

Accessing the loft is easy, thanks to a sliding ladder that tucks away when unused.
Laurin said, “The ladder slides out like a pocket door. Itโs secure and easy to use.”
The lounge area is designed with versatility in mind. It serves as both a reading nook and a space for entertainment.

Eujenne and Laurin raised the lounge area to create additional storage underneath.
This multifunctional design is a perfect example of how a functional tiny home can offer comfort and practicality.
The future of tiny living: a new beginning
Eujenne and Laurin are excited about the future and their plans for living in and possibly moving their tiny home.
They have learned a lot through this experience and are eager to share their knowledge with others.

“Weโve learned how to build so many things in a house now,” Laurin said. “If we ever build or renovate another, weโre well-prepared.”
Their functional tiny home is more than just a place to live; it symbolizes their creativity, hard work, and dedication.
As they continue to enjoy their tiny home by the ocean, they look forward to future adventures and the possibility of more tiny house projects.

Eujenne and Laurin have shown that size doesnโt limit comfort or style by focusing on efficiency, design, and functionality.
Their tiny home proves that a small space can offer everything needed for modern living with the right design.
