Adorable twin babies meet each other for the first time, sparking a viral video with 50M views

A mom from Ocala, Florida, shared her newborn twins bonding video on TikTok, showing the twins meeting each other for the first time.

The video quickly became popular, getting over 50 million views.

In the video, the twin brothers, Cooper and Olsen, who are four months old, are lying side by side.

They smile at each other, babble, and touch each other’s arms, clearly happy to see their reflection in each other.

Meagan captured the moment when her babies finally acknowledged each other after she tried to encourage their interaction.

She was surprised to learn from a friend with twins that this recognition was a significant milestone.

“I have a friend whose twins are 6 months old and she told me, ‘They just noticed each other.’ I said, ‘That’s a milestone — what?'” Meagan told TODAY.

Meagan observed that her twins interact well with their older brothers, Jackson, 6, and Lucas, 3.

Recently, the newborn twins began acknowledging each other, forming a close bond.

However, while taking photos, Meagan glanced up to find her sons smiling at each other, capturing a heartwarming moment.

“It was a candid moment, which made my heart so happy,” she says.

Meagan always wanted twins and told her mom this when she was five.

However, after having her first baby, she joked that having just one was already challenging.

Meagan and Andrew immediately shared the news with their sons when they learned they were expecting another baby.

Despite twins not running in their families, their oldest son Jackson had a feeling about it.

He wished for two babies and was convinced throughout the first trimester that he would have twin brothers.

Meagan noted that Jackson remained unfazed by the ultrasound results.

Cooper and Olsen were premature, born at about 33 weeks, and stayed in the NICU for a month.

Cooper, nicknamed ‘Mini Cooper,’ weighed 3 pounds, 14 ounces, while Olsen weighed five pounds, one ounce.

Meagan wants her newborn twins to grow closer. She mentions they’ve had moments when both babies are happy and near each other.

1. Fraternal twins develop from separate eggs. They are termed dizygotic, while identical twins arise from a single fertilized egg that splits into two after conception, known as monozygotic, Mother&Baby noted.

2. Fraternal twins can be two boys, two girls, or one of each since they come from separate eggs and conceptions. The gender of fraternal twins is determined by the father’s sperm.

3. Fraternal twins usually each have their own placenta, while some identical twins may share one placenta. Having separate placentas lowers the risk of certain complications affecting identical twins.

4. The Journal of Reproductive Medicine study revealed that women who consume more dairy products are more likely to conceive twins. Steinman’s research compared twin rates between vegan and non-vegan mothers, finding that dairy consumers were five times more likely to have twins.

This phenomenon is attributed to cows producing insulin-like growth factor (IGF) in response to growth hormone entering their milk. When women consume dairy, they also ingest IGF, potentially increasing the chances of twin pregnancies.
