This stunning barndominium offers the best of both worlds: tiny living and luxury

In Portland, Oregon, you can rent the Woodstock Farmhouse, a tiny barndominium, on Airbnb.

It’s a cozy 500-square-foot space resembling a garage apartment.

Despite its appearance as a two-story farmhouse, it’s an apartment above a garage or similar area, which isn’t accessible to Airbnb guests.

It has a cozy living area with light farmhouse decor that fits the vibe.

What’s great is how roomy it feels without being one big space.

It has three separate rooms, including a bathroom connected to the bedroom.

The tiny barndimonum has a classic tiny home kitchen for two people to cook together.

The best part is the pivot distance, making it easy to reach everything while cooking.

There’s also plenty of storage, including a clever drawer system under the counter. Ikea’s small space solutions shine here.

There’s seating on the island and a charming farmhouse table for more dining space.

The living room is on the other side of the kitchen island, featuring a clever tiny house sofa with storage underneath.

It easily transforms into a large bed for guests or movie nights.

The room feels spacious, with two big windows providing natural light and treetop views, masking nearby urban houses.

Pull-down shades add to the ambiance. There’s also a cozy nook, ideal for kids’ playtime.

The floors of the tiny barndominium give off a farmhouse feel with their worn-out pine wood appearance, although they’re actually new, likely laminate. They suit the space perfectly.

Plus, stepping outside through the blue sliding door creates a lovely connection to the outdoors.

The spacious bedroom has room for a queen or even a king bed.

It doesn’t feel cramped, with space for four pieces of furniture and a good-sized closet.

Whether for full-time living or Airbnb guests, there’s a thoughtful addition of a luggage rack in the closet, which is always handy.

Moreover, the room has a mini-split AC unit, just like the living area.

The bathroom, connected to the bedroom, is small but cozy, with a bathtub for a relaxing soakโ€”a luxury in a small space.

There’s not much storage, but you have some space under the counter for your things.

The tiny barndominium, a cozy spot above a garage in someone’s backyard, separate from their main home, is called an accessory dwelling unit or ADU.

If you wanted to live here full-time, you could buy a property with the main house and add this to the backyard.

Then, you could live in the small home and rent out the main one, or vice versa.

Alternatively, you could buy land and build this as your primary homeโ€”a garage with an apartment above it.

It’s a clever way to use space, even with just a quarter acre for a yard. We know someone who recently bought a property with only a garage.

The modern farmhouse in Woodstock offers 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, AC, and a private deck, according to its Airbnb post.

It’s newly built, providing ample privacy. Guests can park off the street and follow a private garden path to the front door.

Furthermore, it’s conveniently close to SE Portland’s popular spots like Double Mountain Brewing, New Seasons Market, Otto’s Sausages, Cloud City Ice Cream, Grand Central Bakery, The Woodstock Farmer’s Market, and more.

The tiny barndominium is a new 1-bedroom guest house, separate from the main building, with zone control heating and AC.

It features a full bathroom with custom tile and a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, range, full-size fridge, and ice maker.

It also offers high-speed internet with Netflix, board games, and a DVD library, and it’s in a quiet area, yet only a short walk from the center of the Woodstock Neighborhood.
