If you’re thinking of going on that much-needed vacation but can’t bear to leave your dog behind, then this hotel in Aspen is the perfect destination for you.
The luxurious accommodations offered by the St. Regis Aspen Resort in Colorado isn’t exclusive to its human guests, as these can also be enjoyed by their canine visitors. But if you can’t bring your dog with you, there’s no need to fret, as a Bernese Mountain dog will fulfill your need for some canine-loving while you’re away from your pup.
St. Regis Hotel boasts of custom leather beds, marble bathrooms, their very own spa, and amazing restaurants – truly a luxury traveler’s destination. But aside from these features, there is another attraction in the resort that dog lovers would not be able to resist.
The hotel is home to Kitty Jacob Astor IV, a Bernese Mountain Dog that is the hotel’s official resident dog – a first for the property. The dog is named in honor of John Jacob Astor IV, the founder of the hotel who had a dog named Kitty in 1904. He was born on July 2, 2018, and around Christmas that year, the hotel announced that Kitty will officially live there.
Kitty is a great friend to all who visits St. Regis. He loves playing with the youngsters and being there during children’s storytime. He is also available to meet guests when they arrive at the airport and to even wish them goodnight. Indeed, Kitty is an all-around buddy!
Since he’s lived in the hotel, Kitty has had his own Instagram where followers are updated with his latest antics. When he’s not running through the halls of the hotel, he is exploring the snowy hills and running the trails outside. A bit of warning though: browsing through Kitty’s feed will make you badly want to visit St. Regis (and envy his super cool life a little).
While you may certainly enjoy Kitty’s company during your stay at the hotel, it doesn’t mean that you can’t bring your own pet with you. In fact, you can bring as many pets as you want! St. Regis welcomes dogs and even has exclusive amenities for them. You just have to pay a one-time fee of $75 and a daily fee of $25 per room to bring them with you.
If you want to take your pet(s) with you to play in the snow, the hotel offers gear such as dog booties, dog hiking vests, dog carriers, and more, so that your dog will be able to enjoy the outside while staying dry.
But if you prefer to leave them while you go on your own adventure, the hotel offers dog-sitting and dog walking services. They will even equip you with poop bags during your stay. Upon arrival, guests who come with their pets are provided a dog bed and food bowl – plus, they have exclusive menu options for your furry friends.
The hotel clearly has thought everything through to make sure that their guests and their four-legged companions have nothing but the best stay in St. Regis.
So, will you stay here on your next holiday?
