Julianne Hough, one of America’s Got Talent’s judges, finally found the contender worthy of her first ever Golden Buzzer. This decision brought tears of joy and complete astonishment to the 12-year-old aspiring Broadway singer, Luke Islam.
During the interview, Islam expressed his love and passion for singing and how much he wants to be a Broadway singer someday. “I love the audience, I love the crowd, I love the stage, the props, the costumes. I want to be up there. I want to do what they do. Broadway is just so good,” he said.

Islam also shared how he started loving singing and watching Broadway shows. He stated, “When I was little, I would do shows in my room with my sister Vicky. According to his mother, they took him to see his first Broadway show when he was six years old and something just sparked. His father also shared that Islam sings when he’s brushing his hair, putting his clothes on and even when he’s brushing his teeth.

Before Islam sings his piece, he told the judges that his dream is to be a Broadway singer and he thinks America’s got talent is a great way to achieve that goal. According to Islam, “My dream is to become a start and make it to Broadway. All my life, I’ve been thinking about being on Broadway and I love it so much.” Islam said he loves all the judges but if he had to pick one, he would choose Julianne Hough because he and his sister have been following Hough and her brother’s dancing for a long time.

Apparently, Islam sang a Broadway song and showcased his wonderful voice and amazing singing prowess, leaving the judges impressed, especially Islam’s favorite Judge, Julianne Hough.
“You have such talent and grace. You have something so special. You have an essence inside of you that has given a gift. I believe that not only are you going to become a star and get your dream to come true, but I don’t think you need to wait that much longer,” these are the words of Julianne Hough before she hit the Golden Buzzer, making Islam cry happy tears.

“I can’t believe it. I’m in shock. I never expected something like this to happen my whole life. I’m so grateful. Thank you so much,” Islam said in disbelief.
Of course, the renowned producer Simon Cowell left Islam with a piece of advice, “What’s so important if you move forward, don’t put yourself into a generic music pool. You got to sing songs that every one of your performances is an audition for the best producers on Broadway. You really got to make an impression. This is really key.

Julianne Hough admitted that she was blown away and she got goosebumps, which made her press the Golden Buzzer. She said, “It was so instant. Literally, the minute he came out on stage, my whole back shifted and I was like, ‘Whoa!! His essence and what he was giving off was star power.”
This amazing story only shows that “dreams really do come true” if you work hard for it and not give up. In Luke Islam’s case, it could happen earlier as he is blessed with a big opportunity and a glistening hope to win the competition.
