We now need to apply the best scientific techniques to find how we can take the molecular EGCG element from green tea, and turn it into a functioning tool to combat life-limiting health issues.”
Green tea is also jam-packed with caffeine, which is known to improve brain functions such as mood, reaction time, vigilance and memory. Surprisingly, green tea does not only contain caffeine but it also has L-theanine, an amino acid that is able to cross blood-brain barriers.
Studies show that the combination of caffeine and L-theanine increases stable energy and productivity. The catechin compounds in green tea are also found to lower the risk of dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Because of the many health benefits of green tea, it may help a person live longer and enjoy life more. According to a study of 40,530 Japanese adults, those who consume green the most (5 or more cups a day) are less likely to die in a period of 11 years. Another study in 14, 0001 Japanese elderlies finds that those who consume drink tea the most are 76% less likely to die in a span of 6 years.
