Dad steals the show with his incredible footwork during the father-daughter dance

The father of the bride is usually very important in her life, but his role on her wedding day is often small.

Traditionally, the father walks his daughter down the aisle, gives a toast at the reception, and joins her daughter for a dance.

Father-daughter dances are usually part of weddings and can be sweet or funny.

However, for Brittany Revell and her dad, Kelly, these dances are so cool they captivate millions.

Brittany and her father’s “dance through the decades” video was posted on TikTok in 2022, but their moment remains an internet hit, with over 55 million views.

It began with Young MC’s “Bust a Move,” they danced to iconic moves like the tootsie roll, MC Hammer dance, and the Carlton.

The crowd loved “the dougie” from Cali Swag District the most.

Brittany displayed her dancing skills, but Kelly impressed everyone with flawless moves and a constant smile, Upworthy noted.

Brittany summed it up in her caption, expressing her deep love for her dad.

People in the comments showered Kelly with love and admiration.

They called the father of the bride a legend and praised his smooth moves. Some referred to him as “Pops” and highlighted his star quality.

Others complimented both dancers for their outstanding performance, expressing excitement at seeing such talent at a wedding.

One commenter described it as the best TikTok they’ve ever seen, hailing Brittany and her dad as true rockstars and offering congratulations.

Brittany revealed on The Morning Show that she and Kelly have enjoyed dancing together at home since she was young.

She humorously remarked that while her dad always had rhythm, she didn’t expect him to pick up moves so well.

This experience showed her there’s always more to learn about her dad.

Brittany added that their dancing touched people emotionally beyond just being impressive.

“I think it’s kind of unique to see a dad of Asian descent be able to open up, let loose, and just embrace their American child’s music and culture,” she said, adding that those without fatherly relationships found inspiration in seeing her and Kelly enjoying themselves, encouraging them to improve their future parenting.

Meanwhile, it’s surprising that Kelly has become unexpectedly famous despite having no formal dance training and working as an accountant for 30 years.

Brittany humorously mentioned that her dad is unaware of his newfound celebrity status.

“The day after our first video went viral, my dad went out to get bagels,” she said.

During quarantine, the father and daughter got the idea for the videos while spending much time at home.

Brittany noticed her dad working hard in the living room and wanted to get active.

When she encountered a TikTok dance challenge and needed a partner, she involved her dad to get him moving, too.
