A doggie day-care bus driver helped a stray Labrador find a forever home after it chased his bus while he was picking up dogs.
When he arrived at a regular stop, he saw Motley, his regular Labrador client for three years, waiting with a stray dog.
โI was like, โThatโs strange, they didnโt tell me they were getting another dog,โโ said Tyson Cash, who runs Keller Creek Boarding and Grooming in Franklin County, Ga., with his wife.
Tyson reached out to Motleyโs owners after noticing a new dog. To his surprise, they hadnโt adopted any new dogs but mentioned a stray Lab that had been around the neighborhood for days.

Since Keller Creek is a respected doggie daycare, Cash couldnโt risk bringing in a stray. After loading Motley, he closed the door.
He expressed concern about the strayโs vaccination status and flea and tick prevention, which made him hesitant to risk the safety of the other dogs.
However, he noticed that the stray was eager to join the other dogs on the bus.
Tyson asked his wife to post a photo of the dog on Facebook, hoping to find its owner. As he drove away, the abandoned yellow Lab chased after the doggie day-care bus.
Although he felt terrible and considered taking the dog in despite already having nine dogs, that wasnโt necessary.

Sadie Peace, whose yellow Lab goes to Keller Creek daycare, saw the post and was heartbroken by the sight of the stranded dog.
โTo see a dog so desperate to catch a ride was very heartbreaking,โ Sadie said.
Sadie decided to help the abandoned dog after learning about him from Tyson.
She reached out to Cash, who then provided her with the contact details of a woman caring for the abandoned dog and calling him Waylon.
The woman could no longer keep Waylon because her two female dogs were in heat. Consequently, Peace and her boyfriend went to pick him up that same day.

Waylon immediately connected with them upon meeting, and Sadie chose to keep his name. When they brought him home, Waylon was in poor condition.
โAll his ribs were showing. He had fleas and ticks all over him,โ she said. โYou could just tell he had not been taken care of very well and he had been roaming around for, I guess, weeks.โ
Waylon was taken to the vet, where a microchip was found. His previous owner agreed to transfer ownership to Sadie and her boyfriend. However, no further details about the original owner were given.
Over the past month, Waylon, estimated to be 2 to 3 years old, has adjusted well to his new home and his dog sibling, Nellie.

Sadie shared that Waylon and Nellie sleep in bed with each other every night and are best friends who follow each other everywhere.
As Waylon becomes more comfortable, he is growing more outgoing. Sadie described him as a cuddly, well-mannered dog who loves belly rubs.
She believes Waylon was abused due to his scars and fear of sudden movements. With this in mind, she added that they have been reassuring him that heโs safe.
Sadie is grateful they found him, feeling it was meant to be. About two weeks ago, Waylon started attending Keller Creekโs daycare program once a week after updating his vaccinations.
She was determined to provide Waylon a comfortable home and hoped he would eventually ride the bus he wanted.
Meanwhile, Cash was excited to officially welcome Waylon to Keller Creek, noting that he quickly adapted and fit in well with the group.
He is relieved that Waylon has moved from living on the streets to a loving home.
โIt worked out perfectly,โ he said. โYou couldnโt ask for a better ending.โ
