A biker named Luc Perreault of Alberta, Canada went viral when he posted an emotional Facebook status. The tattooed welder was returning the smile of a friendly child when the child’s mother called him a “dirty biker.”
Luc’s status urges people not to judge a book by its cover. His powerful message is always relevant. Having a body weighing 280 pounds and a body covered in tattoos, Luc Perrault easily stands-out from the crowd.
Despite of his intimidating stature, Luc has a soft heart. And his intimidating demeanor wasn’t able to stop his feelings from being hurt by a judgmental comment of a mother he didn’t even know.
Luc was entering a public café when he made eye contact with a sweet little girl, who is walking along with her mother. The little girl approached him and greeted him with a warm hello.
Luc, being a decent human being, returned the greeting. But the little girl’s mom swooped in and reprimanded her daughter, saying “We don’t talk to dirty bikers.”
Luc, who is still dumbfounded on what he heard and witnessed, shared his unfortunate experience on Facebook.
Luc felt that there is a need to clarify things over, to help raise awareness bikers who look like him are not bad people. Hopefully, his viral post would help stop people from judging the people they meet based on how they look.
“Yes I am a big 280 lb guy with motorcycles and full of tattoos, I am a welder, I am loud, I drink beer, I swear and I look like I would eat your soul if you stare at me wrong.
“What you don’t know is that I have been happily married for 11 years, my kids call me daddy, i am a college graduate, my mother is proud of me and tells everyone how lucky she is to have such a wonderful son, my nieces and nephews are always happy to see there m’noncl Luc.”

So, next time I smile and say hi to your little girl and you grab her and tell her ‘ No no dear we don’t talk to dirty bikers’ remember that even though you hurt my feelings this ‘dirty biker would be the first person to run into your burning house to save your little girls goldfish so she wouldn’t be sad”
Luc’s Facebook post was shared by millions of people all over the world. His story is a lesson for everyone not to judge people based on what our mere eyes could see. Rather than judging one another, why don’t we build bridges instead?
