Camera catches woman’s compassionate gesture for a cold stray dog

It is always easy to do the right thing when the whole world is watching. But the things that  truly define us are what we do when no one is looking.

The integrity and character of a woman in Turkey has been tested when her sweet and kind gesture caught on camera went viral online.

The compassion the woman displayed towards a stray dog even when no one was looking is inspiring a lot of people to show empathy to those who need it.

In a CCTV footage, a woman can be seen departing from what seems to be a coffee shop during a cold and rainy day in Zonguldak, Turkey.

The woman opened her violet umbrella and was ready to go on her way when the stray dog curled up from the cold and rainy weather caught her attention.

For a few seconds, the woman stood still- perhaps she was thinking about what she can do for the poor stray dog.

Thinking about the situation of the poor dog rather than her own comfort, the woman took off her scarf and laid it on top of the poor animal.

The kind and compassionate woman made sure that the poor dog was wrapped securely in her scarf before going on her own way.

The video may only have lasted for less than a minute. Yet its sweet message made a long-lasting impact to the hundred thousand people who have witnessed her compassionate action. In fact, the viral footage was shared numerous times, touching the heart of thousands!

“God sees these kind gestures even if most of the time the rest of the world does not. God bless this lady for her kindness.” A Facebook user said, commending the lady for her kindness towards the dog.

Among the 652k people who have watched the heartwarming footage was someone who recognized the identity of the kind woman. As it turned out, the honorable woman was no other than, Duygu Elma.

According to an interview with The Dodo, Elma said that she did not expect the overwhelming reaction of people towards her sweet and kind gesture.

For the young lady, she couldn’t do more for the dog, so offering her scarf seemed to be the right thing to do during that moment.

“I couldn’t imagine that my actions would receive this attention. I’m very surprised about it,” Elma shared in an interview. “The weather was so cold. I just couldn’t take it when I saw him shivering.”

Although Elma’s encounter with the stray dog was only brief, the kindhearted girl has high hopes that other people would be looking out for his well-being.
