Pink walks into crowd to hug teen after reading sign saying her mom recently died

The 38-year-old award winning singer Pink is viral today, not because of her outstanding music, but because of her big heart!

A video of the Grammy Awardee pop star, stopping her performance for a while just so she can give her grieving fan a warm hug, is touching the hearts of people across continents.

During her Beautiful Trauma tour in Brisbane, Australia, Pink spotted a sign amidst the sea of people attending her concert. The sign, created by the 14-year-old Leah Murphy read:

“I lost my beautiful Mum last month. I would LOVE a hug… Please!”

Lo and behold, Pink granted her fan’s request. Knowing how painful the experience of losing a mother feels like, Pink offered her understanding hug to Leah.

“It was a dream come true,” Leah recounted her memorable night.  “Pink read our sign and straight away said where’s Leah? She came down the stairs and gave me a big, long hug. She told me that I looked pretty. She said ‘oh don’t cry’. She said that everything was going to be OK. Then she signed my arm and we took a selfie.

For Leah Murphy, being able to hug Pink means so much more than just meeting her favorite music artist. According to the teenager, she’s supposed to watch Pink’s concert together with her mother.

Unfortunately, just two months before the Beautiful Trauma tour took place, Debbie, Leah’s mom, died.

For Debbie and Leah, listening to Pink’s music served as their bonding. “When mum bought tickets to Pink she downloaded all her songs and we would play it on the speaker really loud and dance and sing around the house,” Leah shared. “I also said to Pink how much mum loved her.”

“Leah was singing and just so excited and said many times she was just so happy to be going,” Donkin, Leah’s supportive aunt said, explaining how they arrived at the concert with determination.

“We waved the signs as often as we could whenever Pink looked our way and eventually she squinted and said, ‘What is that over there?’ Someone passed her sign up.

Pink touched her heart and read out the sign. She motioned for us to make our way forward. The crowd parted and bulldozed us to the front. I said to Leah… ‘You’re going to get your hug, sweetheart.’

Pink did not only make Leah’s dreams come true, she also made a small request for her fans when she returned on stage. “Everyone call your mom,” the pop star requested. “I don’t care if it’s two o’clock in the morning and you’re stupid drunk. Call your mom.”

According to Donkin’s Facebook post, she and Leah almost missed Pink’s concert,  Donkin mistakenly left their tickets behind after flying from Cairns to Brisbane. She shared on Facebook account that it was “probably my biggest f*** it of all time”.

Fortunately, as if they are guided by Debbie, Donkin was able to buy last-minute tickets. “We couldn’t believe it worked,” Donkin told The Courier Mail. “She hugged her so tight Leah cried. It was so beautiful and so meaningful. We think her mum sent her a hug from heaven.”

A mother’s love is truly unconditional, mothers are angels in disguise sent from above to nurture, guide, and love us. Cherish them while you still can!
