I've had to walk away from a 20+ year friendship. I love her, always. But I had to finally put myself first. Things just change. People change. It was a "real friendship." We all have our own destiny to fulfill and not everyone is on that same path. Can't force yourself to stay when it no longer connects with your soul. Actually, you can force yourself to stay but then you sacrifice your own well-being.
