Beautiful origami, meticulous bonsai trees, amazing animé drawings — when it comes to arts and crafts, it’s undeniable that the Japanese are definitely gifted.
And now, there’s a new Japanese hobby that’s been trending over the internet — turning crumpled foil boils to polished, shiny works of art!
It all started when Japanese silver accessory maker who goes by the name of Atelier Puchuco posted on Twitter what can be done with a simple aluminum foil:

When translated to English, the caption on the photo reads, “I rounded and tapped the aluminum foil (16m) and made it into a sphere.”
His post received a lot of reactions and many were curious as to how an aluminum foil was changed to the point that it was unrecognizable. The accessory maker added a few more details on how the sphere was made.

And, after just a few days,Youtube user SKYtomo posted a step-by-step guide on how to turn an aluminum foil into a shiny sphere:

You have to have a lot of determination and patience — especially with the polishing part. In the Youtube clip, SKYtomo polished the ball until it was nighttime.
SKYtomo used a metal polisher to make the metal ball even shinier. And after all your efforts and hours of polishing, you will finally see the fruit of your labor:

Pretty cool, isn’t it?
The new trend became so popular that many have tried doing it for themselves:

To some, it might not be much, but if you think about the effort and dedication that was given just to achieve something like it, it’s actually kind of amazing.
