Crossing a busy street is fairly easy for most of us – we just wait for the light to turn green and then we go, making it to the other side of the road without a fuss.
But the same can’t be said for elderly people; they don’t walk as fast as younger people do and sometimes, there are impatient drivers on the road that might cause some problems.
That’s why when a group of motorcyclists saw an elderly woman crossing a busy street alone, they instinctively came to her rescue to make sure she was safe.

In a video taken from Patrick Patterson’s helmet cam, the elderly woman can be seen in the middle of a Phoenix intersection attempting to cross the road on a green light.
Patrick was riding together with his friends Damion Pruitt and Eduardo Pascencia. The riders zoomed past her before quickly realizing that the old woman could use some help.
So Patrick signaled his friends to make a U-turn and come back for the elderly lady.

What upset them more was that the nearby cars just kept going. No one slowed down and no one stopped to offer assistance.
“It was crazy,” said Patterson. “She scared us at first. That’s why we hit the brakes. But we had to turn back.”
The riders used their bikes to stop traffic and help the woman cross the road safely. It can be seen in the video that the woman gave a friendly wave to the riders before she went on her way.
Patrick revealed that they weren’t able to speak to the old lady after she crossed the road, but they were just happy that they were able to help her.

As for the video going viral, Patrick says that he wants Phoenix to know that motorcycle riders do care. “People may or may not be surprised but with so much pain in the news and world,” he said, “why not be good to as many people as we can.”
Along with inspiring acts of kindness, Patrick also hopes that this video would help change people’s perception of bikers.
“I wish that people knew just how much bikers care about our cities, towns, roads and etc.,” he said. “Mostly bikers love people!”
Watch the clip below to see how Patrick and his friends helped the elderly woman.
These motorcycle riders deserve no judgment at all – what they are truly deserving of is our respect.
We applaud these men for their good deeds and hope that we get to see more of them in this world!
