If you are a parent, you probably know that running errands with a toddler can really be challenging.
You have to concentrate on what you need to do, try to do it as fast as you can, and do all of these while keeping an eye on your kid – not to mention that the chances your toddler would throw temper tantrums can be high and sometimes unpredictable, which makes the trip even more fun (not really).
The same thing happened to Rebecca Paterson from Pearland, Texas. She was out shopping at Target for the very first time with her two sons – a two-year-old and a two-month-old.

The mother of two was currently getting the things they need when both her children threw tantrums – at the same time.
Unable to make her kids calm down, Rebecca was naturally stressed and did what most mothers would do in such a tough situation – she decided to leave as fast as she can. She started putting the grocery items back on the shelves.
But just as she was leaving the store, someone came to approach her and asked, “Do you need some help?”
It was a stranger who noticed Rebecca’s children having meltdowns. The stranger then prodded Rebecca to finish her shopping and get what she needs. She volunteered to help make Rebecca’s two-month-old baby, Jacob, calm down.
Rebecca was amazed and immediately started shopping for their needs. After paying for the items, she quickly took a photo of the stranger:

The grateful mother shared what the stranger did to help her on a private Facebook page, where she referred to the kind woman as an “angel”. Rebecca said she wanted to pay the stranger somehow for her kindness.
Her post went viral and the news actually looked for the stranger who helped Rebecca. They found her. Her name is Tiffany Guillory:
Tiffany said that she knew exactly what Rebecca was going through as she had been there before.
She just saw a mother who needs help, that’s why she offered a hand. The kind stranger also said that upon seeing the two-month-old baby, she can just imagine how the mother may be feeling with her hormones running high after giving birth just two months ago.
She carried the two-month-old Jacob and soothed the baby by talking to him. Tiffany was teary-eyed in the interview with KHOU 11 and said she was really touched by Rebecca’s post.

When a toddler throws a hissy fit in a public place, the parents usually have one thing in mind: “Let’s get out of here!” Sadly, it’s not uncommon for parents of kids having a meltdown to receive looks of disgust and disapproval from passersby making judgments on how their children behave.
It’s quite refreshing to find someone who would show enough empathy that they would go out of their way to offer help.
Someone who would really put themselves in someone else’s shoes, instead of simply judging. Someone who would take some time out of their busy schedule to help a stranger.
As Rebecca said in her viral post: “She saved me today moms!!! I am so sleep-deprived and was running on empty. A little kindness and understanding go a long way.”
