A marriage proposal is one of the most memorable moments between a loving couple. It is the perfect time to know if your special someone truly wants to spend all of their days with you. And since a marriage proposal will determine the next stage of your relationship, men think of a way to pop the important question in a creative, romantic, and unforgettable way!
Some men choose to ask the monumental question in a simple candlelit dinner. Some choose to involve their family and friends in asking their woman’s hand for marriage. While others think of proposing to their girlfriend in a way that has never been done before.
An amateur pilot, Anthony Bordignon, devised a unique and extreme way of asking her girlfriend to spend the rest of their lives together. The dashing pilot had invited his girlfriend, Katherine Wareham to come on the plane ride with him.
While their plane is up in the air, Katherine was made to believe that something went wrong. Anthony told his girlfriend of two years that he cannot get any response from the controls. Thinking that they are in imminent danger, Katherine started to fear for their lives.
Anthony, playing the role of an amateur pilot, asked Katherine for some help. “Can you grab the checklist from the side?” Anthony asked, instructing Katherine to take the checklist guide that would help them survive the situation.
“Can you start from the top, please? Just don’t panic. The next one over the page two.” Anthony said.
Anthony informed his anxious girlfriend that the control is not responding well and to read the next instructions. “We might have to land in a field,” Anthony warned.
“This one? Forced Landing?” Katherine asked. “Set altitude… Determine wind action…” Katherine continued reading after receiving Anthony’s confirmation.
The unsuspecting girl’s worry is growing especially when nothing from the instruction seemed to be working.
Anthony asked Katherine to skip the next instructions and proceed at the tenth.
“Ten, verify flight is engaged… Initiate ring engagement process following steps eleven to fourteen.” Katherine followed.
“We’re gonna need some response,” Anthony said.
“You’re lying,” Katherine said, finally getting a clue.
“Does the passenger…” The once nervous Katherine stopped herself from reading and looked at her boyfriend. “I hate you!” She exclaimed tears were about to fall from her eyes.
“Will the pilot in command love the passenger forever? Check… Will you marry the pilot in command?“ Emotions already empowered Katherine and she started crying. Anthony, on the other hand, looks at his emotional girlfriend and handed her a small red box.
“You’re such an idiot,” Katherine replied.
“Is that a yes?” Anthony asked lightly.
“I love you so much so I freaking do!” Katherine squealed, giving Anthony the answer he’s been longing to hear. “Don’t ever do that to me again.” The emotional girlfriend, now fiancee of Anthony commanded.
The heart-stopping proposal was captured in a video, which was then uploaded on Facebook. Since the day it was uploaded, it has garnered over 19 Million of views from people all over the world. A lot of people across the globe couldn’t help but smile over their special and memorable proposal.
“My proposal was.. ‘shall we get married? While sat on thesofa watching criminal minds we only dated 2 months. That was 10 years ago. Now we have 2 kids and still happily married – still no engagement ring!” Jeri Willmott, a Facebook user, shared how he popped the question to his now wife.
“My husband proposed to me too while flying. He asked me to grab some maps from his flight bag in the back seat. He had roses and the ring in it.” Joyce VanJura, another Facebook user, shared how her pilot husband asked her hand for marriage.
“LOl classic!! Make her feel like life is over and then the thought of marrying him doesn’t seem so bad now that she will live!” Michael Murphy, also a Facebook user, decided to take the exciting proposal with humor.
With all of the bad break-ups happening here and there, it sure is nice to read stories such as Anthony’s and Katherine’s. May their love for each other triumph against all of the challenges life has in store for them!
