Each human being seeks someone to fill not just the body needs but also to satiate the yearning of the soul. Such a brother,friend, partner or a lover is all one needs to face life's ups and downs with courage and fortitude to live at easy. All of us just need three traits to face the vicissitudes of living and they are the greatest treasures in anyone's possession:
“Simplicity, patience, compassion.
- Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being - Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. - Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.”
Nanak says thus: " Mere gunn avgunn na bichariyei, prabh aapna birad samariyei; Kant laye ke rakhiyein, lage na tatti vahe jeeyo"
It means: " Reflect not on my bad or good traits, Lord keep me protected; Hold me close to your breast, save me from evil winds"
When you find a partner who can give you this comfort never lose him and this can only come if you make Almighty your bet friend.
