  1. What is mean exactly when someone says “don’t let it bother you?” What are they expecting you to do? It’s a really weird saying because it makes it sound like the speaker thinks the other person has an actual choice as to what bothers them or not. Since that isn’t true, you can’t help it if something bothers you, then it makes the speaker sound really lame and stupid. And very dishonest. Telling someone “don’t let it bother you” is a very dishonest piece of advice, you should know better, you should know the person doesn’t have a choice about the feelings they have.
