Pup gets own cozy room after dog-mom transforms spare closet into a tiny bedroom

Aside from giving him lots of love and affection, this dog mom decided to give her four-legged best friend something extra special – his own customized bedroom.

Since third grade, Betsy Redfern, 20, and her 12-year-old Chihuahua named Cupid had been inseparable. Because of the close bond that they shared, the two eventually became the best of friends. So when Betsy had to move away from home to go to college, there was no question about whether she would take Cupid with her.

During her sophomore year, Betsy took Cupid with her to college, and she wanted to make the experience as comfortable for her dog as possible. Understanding that the pooch might feel homesick, she decided to do something special for him that would make his time away from home a lot better.

When she moved into her new apartment, Betsy discovered that there was an extra closet attached to her bedroom. Instead of using the storage space to keep her belongings, the college student thought that the area could serve a better purpose – Cupid’s own personalized bedroom!

The extra closet was just the perfect size for Cupid, and Betsy transformed it into every pet owner’s dream space. The pup’s room features a small four-post bed complete with a tiny mattress, comforter blanket, and a pillow.

“The bed was designed by my mom and she sewed everything herself,” Betsy told The Dodo. The color palette and the patterns were chosen to complement her own bedroom.

The room also has a rack for Cupid’s clothes, a bucket of toys, a rug, and a nameplate. Clearly, this dog is so loved by his fur mom!

Aside from being a comfortable place where Cupid could hang out and sleep, Betsy made sure that it would be safe for him as well.

“Cupid’s room has been so great because I am able to put a baby gate up and keep him in there when I go to class so I know he is safe and cozy,” Betsy told Pop Sugar.

When the holiday season came, Betsy made sure to add a festive touch to Cupid’s bedroom .

“I was just decorating my apartment for Christmas, so I figured a tree would be a nice addition,” she said. “I like to spoil him.”

What a lucky dog! Truly, there is no limit to the love that dog owners can give to their pets. And Betsy’s efforts to make Cupid as he happy as he can be is a testament to that.
