Dog being called a hero after being bitten by a rattlesnake protecting owner

Once again, a dog has shown the world how great their love for us humans are. A golden retriever named Todd is now an internet sensation after he selflessly came into the defense of his owner and protected her from getting bitten by a rattlesnake. The heroic deed of Todd saved his human’s life while he got bitten and is still recovering.

Todd, the heroic dog from Arizona, was spending time with his owner, Paula Godwin. They were enjoying each other’s company during their morning walk when Paula stepped on a stretched out rattlesnake. According to Paula, if not for her brave Todd, she would have been bitten by the loitering snake.

“So this morning was up bright and early to go on a hike on 7th street carefree,” Goodwin shared her unforgettable experience on her Facebook account. “It was a beautiful morning but as we were walking down the hill I literally almost stepped on a  rattlesnake. But my hero of a puppy Todd saved me He jumped right in front of my leg where I surely would have got bit. This is what a hero looks like.”

She also posted an emoji of a cactus and a rainbow, followed by the caption “please say a little prayer for my sweet hero.”

Apparently, when Todd jumped right in to protect Paula, the snake managed to bit Todd on the right side of his face. Paula immediately rushed her hero golden retriever to the Anthem Animal Hospital.

Thankfully, Todd suffered from no major health problem. According to the veterinarians who checked on him, he is going to be alright soon, however, his face will still be swollen for a few more days.

Todd’s heroic deed posted by Paula on her Facebook account immediately went viral. As of now, it garnered more than 57 thousand likes and 23 thousand shares. People all over the internet expressed their respect and amazement to the admirable heroism displayed by the dog. Proving how strong a dog’s loyalty is to his master.

In addition, a short report was posted by the local station, Fox10′ showing the video of Todd and Paula on their twitter account, generating an additional 1,900 shares and more than 1700 comments.

“This golden retriever in Carefree, AZ stepped in harms way to stop his owner from getting bitten by a rattle snake during a walk….& he was bitten instead,” Fox10 reported together with the video. “Let’s wish Todd speedy recovery! He’s only 6 months old!”

Netizens were inspired and touched by Todd’s heroic deed that one even created a poem as a dedication to the hero retriever.

“There was a young dog named Todd,
Who protected his hooman with his bod
From a dangerous snake that rattled,
Todd fought him off and had us all dazzled
And now all dogs and hoomans look up to him as a God!”

Other netizens encouraged others to pray for the speedy recovery of the admirable dog. As of now, thanks to the prayers and support of the people who learnt about his great action, Todd has recovered and already got his energy back!

True enough, if you shower your dog with love, care, and kindness, it will show you a doubled amount of love, care, and kindness as well. Their loyalty rises above challenges and does not pale even when they are face to face with a life-threatening event. Dogs, indeed are man’s best friend that you can count on even in the most dangerous time.
