Dog who was abandoned on camera can’t stop smiling after being adopted

Before Christmas last year, the life of a Staffordshire bull terrier named Snoop took a turn for the worse – he was abandoned by his owners on the side of a road in England.

The whole act was caught on camera (video below courtesy of The Sun) and quickly spread on social media. The footage showed a man taking the dog out of the car and leaving him on the side of the road along with his bed. After his owners took off, poor Snoop began chasing after them, looking so anxious that he was being left alone in the dark.

After this heartbreaking abandonment, things have been looking up for Snoop – that’s because he’s been recently adopted! His new owner, Laurence Squire, feels so lucky that he gets to be Snoop’s forever dad.

“One evening I was watching the news when Snoop’s story came on. What happened to him was shocking, and it was clear from the footage — in the way that he tried to get back into the car — that he was a loyal dog.”, Laurence said in a statement.

He was right – Snoop was loyal, indeed. In fact, he is so loyal that his rescuers from the RSPCA warn that he is prone to suffer from separation anxiety.

But Snoop wouldn’t have to worry about that because Laurence works from home, so that means they will be able to spend lots of play and cuddle time together!

It has only been a few weeks, but Snoop looks like he had already adjusted completely in his new home. Rachel Butler, a spokesperson of the RSPCA, said Snoop looked very comfortable and settled in his new home when she paid them a visit recently.

“The love and attention he is getting now from Laurence is wonderful. Snoop is living like a king.”, Rachel said.

Snoop is now enjoying life as a regular dog – napping, playing, and running around like his true energetic self. However, because of the trauma that he faced from being abandoned, Snoop still doesn’t let Laurence stray too far from his sights.

“I thought that he seemed like the perfect dog for me and that I could offer him the home he deserved. As soon as he came into the house for the first time, he jumped on the sofa and it was as though he decided that was the space for him! He loves to lie on the back of the sofa and if I put the fire on, he will curl up in front of it.”, Laurence shared.

Unfortunately, there are many dogs like Snoop who are abandoned by their owners, to help them, you can make a donation to the RSPCA.

Below is the actual video footage of abandonment:
