This dad lost 92 pounds after he couldn’t keep up with his kids on a hike

You can’t deny that people who share their weight loss photos also inspire others to follow their weight loss journey. And this dad did just that!

Among the top reasons for weight gain are poor diet, lack of exercise, and health-related issues. We’ve all gone through these things at one point in our lives, however, some people linger in it for too long, causing them to end up overweight.

As we all know, being heavy has a lot of physical, mental, and emotional disadvantages. It can make a person feel weaker and less confident about themselves.

But, there comes a time when an overweight person decides that enough is enough, and for this dad who was 292 pounds heavy, the prime motivating factor for him to lose weight was his children.

It all began after Jeremiah Peterson, 40, went hiking on a mountain lake with his three kids. Throughout the whole excursion, the father found himself constantly having to catch his breath and take breaks way before his 9, 7, and 6-year old children.

“Instead of remembering all the good memories we had made on this trip all I can remember is this one thing that kept playing in my head over and over again,” Jeremiah wrote on his Instagram. “I found myself running out of breath and having to take breaks way before my 9, 7, and 6-year-old kids.”

That day made him realize that he needed to make a change. Jeremiah set on a mission to lose all his excess weight and in just six months, he’s already lost 92 pounds!

Looking at the weight loss photos he posted, the antique dealer from Missoula, Montana looked almost unrecognizable with his sculptured physique. From being the person who weighed 20 stone, he transformed into a man who possessed an impressive form that any guy would aspire to have.

Jeremiah is a completely changed man, and he was able to achieve his goal because he had the right motivation – his family.

Jeremiah’s weight loss journey was far from easy. He put himself on a strict keto diet and ditched the carbs after discovering that he had an intolerance to gluten. He also followed an exercise regimen that involved two hours of hiking and one hour in the gym every single day.

He shared: “My transformation happened so fast because I did the workout program every day without any time off, which helped cut the fat so quickly. While I’m spending up to three hours exercising, a hike doesn’t really feel like working out, before I would go home and drink beer to de-stress, but now hiking relaxes me in the same way. Going out in the mountains has made exercising so much better for me, I definitely couldn’t have gone to the gym in the morning, then back at noon and the evening.”

He wakes up at 5 in the morning to start his daily walk and is in bed by 10 pm. He says that with his new lifestyle, he feels more energized than ever.

Jeremiah after sharing his weight loss photos, believes that his poor diet choices are what led to his weight gain.

He said: “The from drinking two beers a night and on the weekend having sugary desserts, carbs and processed foods my weight kept adding up.”

Jeremiah’s weight loss journey was supplemented with further support after he enrolled on the site, mytransphormationstartstoday.com, which helped him develop meal plans and workouts.

The site holds regular transformation competitions, wherein the winners are awarded cash prizes.

He won $2,500 after the first month and when he completed the 150-day challenge, he earned $50,000. 

“I had the motivation to do it for health reasons for my family but the $50,000 didn’t do any harm either. I’m way leaner, I went from a size 42 in jeans to a 33, that’s a tonne of inches off my waist,” he said.

What an incredible transformation! Jeremiah’s story only proves that with the right motivation, a person can achieve what he sets his mind to.
