Country star singer and wife opens grocery store with one very special twist

Brad Paisley, a Grammy and Academy country singer awardee, together with Kimberly Williams-Paisley, his wife who is an actress is making noise on various news outlet. The talented husband and wife recently made an announcement, not about an album or an upcoming movie, but about their newest ‘business’ venture. Brad and Kimberly Paisley have thought of opening a special grocery store in which items are for free!

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you! You have read it right! Brad and Kimberly will open up a grocery store named The Store in Nashville, and all of the grocery items are for free. This act of kindness will be done in collaboration with Belmont University and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Brad and Kimberly created The Store as a non-profit organization that will operate as a free grocery store which will allow people to shop for their basic needs. These people, which they call as clients, will be given an opportunity to have an access to The Store for a year. In this duration, people who are trying to make ends meet can shop for food and even supplements as they try to get back on their feet.

According to the multi-awarded singer, he wants to help people who have hit rock bottom. Brad understands that sometimes, things just happen that can knock someone off their feet. He aims to provide a dignified way of helping these people stand-up again.

“This is a grocery store with dignity for people who have fallen on hard times,” Brad Paisley explained in an interview. “All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom. It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet.”

Brad and Kimberly also shared that they were inspired to do something for the socially disadvantaged after getting involved in a similar organization, the Unity Shoppe in Santa Barabra California.

“So many people are making great choices in their lives” Kimberly said, wearing the shoes of people facing trying times. “It’s not like they’ve made major mistakes, they just need a little extra help and we want to be a resource for those people.”

The Store is set to stand next to Brad’s alma mater, Belmont University’s Ministry Center. This way, The Store can be accessible to anyone as it is located in the heart of Nashville’s 12 South district. The architectural design of the unique grocery store will be in the care of ESa – the largest and one of the best architectural firm in Nashville. Their creative services will also be offered for free as a way of helping Brad and Kimberly achieve their goal.

Aside from basic needs such as food, Brad and Kimberly are also planning to set up a toy aisle especially during the holiday season to raise the spirit of children. To do this, the kind couple will also accept donations for new and unopened toys all throughout the year.

Brad and Kimberly are also appealing to the kind heart of others. They are in need of two funding: one for the construction of the actual store and the other is for food that they need to operate. Their total construction target is  $1.2 million but they are hoping to gather $500,000 for them to break ground this incoming year 2019.
