Quick-thinking 9-year-old girl breaks into grandma’s house to save her life

Children are parents’ great treasure! And because of their adorable face and cute antics, it is easy for one to forget that behind their innocence lies a child capable of wonders.

Take the case of a 9-year-old girl from Philadelphia who is making noise on the internet. Cayla Davis may look like a normal child of her age. But for her family, she has the qualities of a modern hero. After all, thanks to her bravery and her quick thinking, her grandmother was able to see another day.

Just like their regular Mondays, Donna Davis dropped by her daughter Cayla to her mother’s house by 7 in the morning. Donna waited for her daughter to safely go through the gate before driving away.

Everything seemed okay except for the fact that Cayla’s grandma, Joyce Anne, was not attending to her door. Little Cayla wandered around the house and tried all of the doors and windows. However, all of the points of entry were locked.

The 9-year-old girl also can’t help but notice that all of the lights were out and grandma Joyce’s phone kept on ringing. With this observations, alarms were ringing on little Cayla’s head. Knowing that something was off, Cayla was quickly on her feet.

According to an interview, Cayla used a chair to give her a boost and hoisted herself through the window located above the front door of her grandma Joyce’s home.

“How she got into that window is beyond my comprehension,” Donna shared her thoughts about her daughter’s quick action.

Once inside, Cayla quickly ran upstairs and discovered grandma Joyce shaking from a brain aneurysm. It was during this moment that Cayla heard the phone ringing again which she quickly answered to ask for help.

As it turned out, the persistent caller was no other than her mom, who was calling grandma Joyce to see if she made it inside.

“Mom come back, please come back,” Young Cayla reportedly pleaded. “I found grandmom upstairs in her bedroom and she’s shaking.” Cayla said, describing the alarming situation.

Learning about the condition of her mother, Donna instructed Cayla to call 911. Afterwards, she immediately turned around and drove back towards her mother’s home. Worried for her mother’s safety, Donna also called 911 herself.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to young Cayla, the house alarm went off when she broke her grandma’s window  which alerted the police authorities.

When they finally arrived, Cayla threw her grandma’s house keys through the window to let them in and to get help.

The 9-year-old little girl did not only call for help, she also did everything she could to keep her grandma Joyce okay. In fact, Cayla kept on asking questions to keep her grandma’s mind stimulated while waiting for the paramedics.

Cayla’s quick thinking and responsible actions saved her grandma Joyce’s life. As of now, her beloved grandma is healing and recovering in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

“You are awesome,” Donna proudly told her beautiful, smart, and heroic daughter. “You are the best, thank you so much for saving grandmom’s life.” Donna said, expressing her sincere gratitude.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that Cayla is my little angel,” Donna said, beaming with pride. “A hero. She’s a she-ro. Cause girls rule. We rock.”
